Anyone tried skin vitamins - Perfectil, etc?

Has anyone ever tired any vitamin/mineral supplements specifically for (older) skin? I'm thinking of Perfectil and suchlike. I'm 45 (very close to 46) and my skin is becoming drier and drier - it's driving me crazy! I realise this happens as we get older, but I'm really keen to try anything that may make a difference.

I drink lots of water, use heaps of moisturiser, take flaxseed, so doing everything I can reasonably do to keep it under control.

I took them for 2 months earlier on this year. I bought perfectil max. I don't feel my skin got any benefit but my hair and nails were in good condition. Since stopping them my hair is falling out a lot more when I wash it Confused

Oh, now, that's interesting, Redrosegirlie, my thin hair is also an issue for me, so would be interesting to see if taking those vitamins would help me in that department. Am looking at the reviews of them now.....

My hairdresser thought my hair was in really good condition and thicker whilst I was on them. I'm teying to grow it and I felt it was growing quicker too but that might have been my imagination.

My skin is noticeably better when I take omega 3 oil tablets.

I have some Tesco brand 'hair skin and nails' tablets which were much cheaper than Perfectil, but I haven't been taking them yet as I'm using up some pregnancy vitamins for now

be aware that there's no evidence for flaxseed doing anything. If you are after the omega-3, it is much better from fish sources.

as always, eating food is better than taking tabs.

Have a look at the own brand ones in superdrug or boots. They are often exactly the same but cost less.
