Awful, awful stomach

Had dc3 5 months ago. Am back to my pre-pregnancy weight but my stomach is worse than ever. Saggy and massive. I actually think it looked better when I weighed more just after giving birth.

Would happily have a tummy tuck, but have no one who could look after the children during the long recovery period. Am very nervous about sit-ups etc as they have never worked before and am concerned I could actually end up looking worse. Minimising carbs, caffeine, fizzy drinks etc makes no difference.

Any advice very gratefully received. Am on holiday at the moment and am feeling like shit in my swimwear HmmHmmHmm

Could it be abdominal separation? See See here in which case I understand sit ups are absolutely the worst thing to do. Quite a few of my friends had to seek advice from the doctor about this after they had babies, particularly their second.

If you abdominal muscles have seperated then at least it is possible to bring them back together. I had physio (loads as my muscles separate after each DC) and 1-2-1 pilates sessions. Some pilates exercises are not great if you have separation apparently, which is why the 1-2-1 sessions were so good.

Other than that spanx are good, 5 months isn't that long ago to have given birth, I think you are doing well to be in swimwear at all tbh.

If it's diastasis recti I recommend the Mutu system exercise programme!

I feel the same, though my DC3 is 6 now. Each time I loose weight the "apron" just looks worse, I literally have to tuck it in my knickers!

My stomach muscles also split with DC2, need to go back to Drs as backache is getting bad again, definitely no sit ups/crunches if you have this.

Google standing ab exercises

Thanks everyone. Comforting to know I'm not the only one!

Going to see the doctor to be in the safe side and go from there.
