These yellow shoes are bad, right?

I have just spent my monthly rent on this dress for a very posh ex's wedding next month.

Am I right in thinking that the yellow shoes are really not good? Any ideas on what would suit, would red be too clown-y?

Ooh I am both of those! have never had anywhere posh enough to wear something designer.

Nigella had a fab red one on on TV.

Having a mooch on the site came across the same pattern dress in different style

This one with white shoes: www.viviennewestwood.com/shop/womens/clothing/dresses/agency-dress

This one with black shoes:
www.viviennewestwood.com/shop/womens/clothing/trousers/marilyn-shorts

So in conclusion yellow is best

OP you are obviously going to look amazing for this do! how come you're splurging on it, is the ex "the one who got away", will there be slebs there?! (Nosey!)

Or is it part of a bigger plan to find something fabulous to wear many times in the future?

Archer26 · 29/07/2015 20:03

Dress is a mah zing. Sell all my clothes just to buy just that dress a mah zing. Envy

My first thought was some gold strappy sandals. Ridiculously high heel, gladiator style, thin straps.

Whatever your footwear choice, you have smashed that wedding.

AlistairSim · 29/07/2015 20:06

The dress is a Thing Of Beauty.

Who care about shoes?

Featherbluedot · 29/07/2015 20:13

As much I'd want to wear yellow shoes I would stick to black

Featherbluedot · 29/07/2015 20:14

The dress is gorgeous

ChainReacting · 29/07/2015 22:48

You are all just great, it's my first venture into S&B and am so glad I posted!

Nicely done LilMissSunshine ! I never thought of searching other variations. Definitely agree that black doesn't work as well.

MoreCrack Those office shoes are gorgeous but very high - landing on my (beautifully dressed) bum would be a distinct possibility at some stage!

Remus they are fab. I had also come across these dune-madeira which maybe a little lower so maybe an option.

Would something mid heel like this be too mumsy?

Suspect that I'm destined to be hoovering in heels for the next month.

And yes Duckdeamon he absolutely totally completely broke my heart. A long time ago now but he deserves to see what he missed out on Smile

The Madeira ones are nice. The others are not right. Yellow!!!

Duckdeamon · 30/07/2015 06:34

Yes get the heels soon and practice wearing them! Would it be sacrilege to get some flats too, for dancing later?

A really good bra is in order too!

doctorboo · 30/07/2015 07:53

I love the dress and the shoes, although I'd prefer them in a different tone, but I do like yellow.

Duck I had a gorgeous yellow VW dress in 2009, fit like a dream. I got it from Cocosa, but returned it because I couldn't justify the cost - what a mistake!!!

Mygardenistoobig · 30/07/2015 08:40

The yellow shoes look good with the dress.

Andcake · 30/07/2015 09:49

Like the yellow but blue, red or even ( and thus feels a bit 80's) white could work. Black would dull it down
Not tan/ nude - awful idea and I don't think the marvellous vw would approve either Grin
Statement shoes please!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2015 10:55

Ooh yes to the first Dune shoes, and an absolute bargain too!

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2015 11:06

I have those Dune Madeiras, they are high but pretty comfortable. Lovely dress, by the way!

ChainReacting · 30/07/2015 15:34

Who knew high street yellow shoes could be so expensive KG!

Last question - any thoughts on accessories??

OP posts:
Duckdeamon · 30/07/2015 16:59

Was going to wonder about accessories!

Oh no doctorboo! Fashion regret!
