What things make you feel special when you put them on?

Over last few weeks I've had some really shitty personal news and then the next day an unexpected (modest) financial windfall. Weird timing and I can't help but think I should use the latter for some retail therapy. I'm a bit lost, though. I would love to buy one or two things that just make my days feel a bit brighter. I'm a pretty classic dresser, am very happy with my existing handbags so probably not looking to spend there. I guess I'm thinking jewellery or footwear or...? My usual look is skirts, top, tights, ankle boots, Burberry trench (ebay), satchel. It's winter where I am, so maybe a bit of a significant piece of knitwear? Sorry, this is rather broad. I guess the question is - what do you own that cheers you up and makes you feel a bit more invincible than usual? I'd love to buy something that is timeless and special and has that x-factor effect.

Make it something you can enjoy every day like a bag, boots, a watch or a great piece of everyday jewellery. Something that sits in your wardrobe waiting for an occasion won't give the same pleasure.

I have an Alexander McQueen dress that I have never regretted.

For me, it's coats and jackets that make the difference. I have a lovely biker jacket that made me cheerful every time I pulled it on. I've had coats in the past that made me feel pulled together instantly.

I love this thread. I'm going to start a BadAss ring collection myself.

Fucking Badass boots too. And yes they must be searingly fierce and swear worthy.

As in high heels, or knee highs, or Dr Martens. Or - as in the case of my favourites - all of the above.

Anything cashmere. I love Brora too

Yes to biker jackets!
