Am I asking for the impossible?

Simply be in store or online. I've never had too much "fade". They come in various shapes from skinny (the waistband goes in slightly to reduce gape) to flared. Also wash in warmish 30 degree water inside out.

NYDJ black jeans certainly don't fade.

Second vote for simply be. I've had ages and they have hardly faded at all.

Thanks ladies. I've just shelled out 30 quid on Evans jeans only for them to fade along the seams after the first wash (inside out, 30 degrees, no softener...) which is a real shame as I love the fit of them!

(Psst what does NYDJ stand for?)

Not Your Daughter's Jeans. A U.S. Brand. The selection at John Lewis look a bit 'mumsy' but in fact there is a very wide range of styles on their site. I'm a great fan. Think they're worth the high prices.
