I'm 5'2" verging on a size 16 can't fucking believe it got enormous norks no idea where they came from I look awful in everything I've tried.

I used to be so slim and stylish, people will be interested in what I wear.

Any ideas?

Just happened upon this: maxmara and thought of your thread. In the sale and only equiv. 16 (48) left. stylish, fashionable, doesn't cover or reveal too much. Print is very 'wedding-y. Worth ordering to try on and return if not right?

TongueBiter · 25/07/2015 18:32

Ha - Coco I wore that dress to a wedding recently (borrowed off a work mate so no cost involved) Grin

Butting in.. what would you recommend eating in a typical day on low carb I have five weeks until an ocassion?

BIWI · 25/07/2015 19:00

mrsmeerkat - look at the low carb bootcamp threads for some inspiration!

But this is what I typically would eat:

breakfast - couple of boiled eggs
lunch - something like tuna mayo, with a green salad and an oily dressing
dinner - meat + veg of some kind - so roast chicken with roast veg (peppers, courgette, shallots, cauliflower, perhaps), all roasted in a lot of oil. Or salmon steak, marinated in sesame oil, garlic, ginger and lemon juice and then baked in the oven, with stir-fried veg (mange tout, shallots, baby sweetcorn, leeks, broccoli for example)

Generally for dinner I just cook what we would have always had, but don't eat the potatoes or rice or pasta that I might serve with it.

I'm a similar size to you OP - 5'3" with massive boobs and I bought this to wear to a wedding next week. It's pretty flattering and I've bought a bolero cardi to go with it and a massive navy fascinator from Coast to give me a bit of height

Hepzibar · 06/08/2015 20:39

Thanks for al this advice and some home thruths.

I have acted upon this and had my Personal Shopper session today (Debenhams Trafford Centre). Frankly, I was dreading it. It turned out to be quite a pleasant experience. I was prepared, took decent underwear spanx and my mother as the audience, she is not wired up to be anything other than truthful.

I have bought this www.phase-eight.com/fcp/product/phase-eight/occasion-dresses/belle-dress/203118287

And a navy fascinator hat thing. It looks nice I hope

To anyone who is undecided about the personal shopper thing, I would definately go for it. It is most definately less stressful than taking armfuls of clothes into a cramped changing room.

Just to add - I have also cut the carbs mostly and am walking more.

Really thanks for all this advice Flowers

Now for the shoes and bag?.......

Beautiful elegant and chic dress. You will look fantastic . Enjoy the day !

BIWI · 06/08/2015 21:07

I like that! And I imagine it will be very flattering.

Hepzibar · 06/08/2015 21:31

Thanks for the votes of confidence. Yes it was flattering, it certainly felt good when I put it on. I watched mum's and the PS's reactions when I walked out and they were positive. The PS rushed off to get 'the perfect hat for it', and she was right, when I put it on it just looked right.

I am relieved I can tell you!

Beautiful dress.

We did the rounds today for my daughters dress for my wedding.

Came away empty handed. Budget around £50/£60

Size 10 about 5 feet 4

Likes natural fabrics . Beach / evening wedding. thinks cream washes her out. I think she'll have a tan. She's happy with long or knee length. I never thought buying a dress would be so difficult.

She bought a nice long cream monsoon dress in white / cream that's she's threatening to dye. I think it looks great as it is

It's this one . Hazar maxi dress.
