Black tie do & half grown out fringe

I am growing out my fringe and it is now hitting my cheekbones. I am hopeless at hair and just clip it back. Black tie do next Friday, I've got a lovely dress and shoes so what on earth do I do with my hair?

Go to the hair dresser and blend it in with some light layers.

Would you suit a quiffy sort of up do?

No layers, my hair is very fine. Perhaps to the quiff, I'd need to you tube how to do it. Are there any nice sparkly clips out there that I could wear or would that look naff?
