Hair styling products

If you use product, what to do use?

My hair is about ear level with lots of layers. It is a new cut and style but I am struggling to find styling products. Hairspray doesn't work and wax type stuff just makes it greasy. Any tips?

My hair is longer than yours, but I like this stuff for defining layers and giving it a bit of structure. It doesn't go hard, flakey or crunchy and it's not greasy at all. I use it on wet or dry hair, wet gives it shape, dry gives more definition. I really like it - hope that helps.

My hair remains nice and well- behaved till it meets some wind, even a little bit or should I say air instead of wind. Anyway that hair goes frizzy and kind of thorny. Any suggestions ? Any routine that I should follow?

I've got similar length hair and like to use some sort of product to mess it up a bit - but there are lots of different options out there! The out of bed stuff is good, and is usually on offer somewhere. In general I'd say avoid wax and anything described as pomade as these can look greasy, anything gel-ish goes crunchy, you want stuff described as "matt" or "fibre" or "reworkable" or "texturising" - they tend to be non-shiny and non-crunchy. Clays and pastes are a good way to go, as long as you use them sparingly to avoid being too heavy on your hair. Garnier do one called a gum that's good too. And don't be afraid to use guy's products - often they'll have a wider range of styling products for shorter hair styles.
