Sunglasses as Alice band

I love the way my hair looks when I push my sunglasses back onto my head. Would I be mad therefore to consider using a good old Alice Band to create the same effect or would I just look like an aging Sloane Ranger which I probably am

I do the same...it looks good with the glasses, but an Alice band makes me look ridiculous. I tried it one day, and my mother couldn't stop laughing.

Just wear the sunglasses. Alice bands are for 5/6yos who are growing their fringes out.

I know what you mean about liking the effect of sunglasses on head. I use thin elastic hairbands from Superdrug - you can get them in cream, brown, or black to match different hair colours. You barely notice them when they're on but they hold your hair back off your face and have a rubber coating on the other side so they don't slip around.

No it was a serious suggestion but for longer hair.

I think you can buy them too, with a band that slips under the back of your hair.

Depending on the length at the back of course.

Just stick to the sunglasses. Otherwise you can look unwittingly Sloane.

I find this too, but I worked out its because the sun glasses only pull the sideas back and don't sit tight on the top of my head so the hair is looser. If I wear an alice band it's too tight and as I don't have a fringe and very straight hair, makes me look a bit slap head.

I do this too. I am very choosy about my sunglasses because they have to be wraparound to sit close to my head as a hairband, and have rubber bits on the arms to stop them slipping.

I've tried very thin metal hairbands, but what I like about the sunglasses is the extra height (I have flat hair).

I like the way they make my hair look too. I'm actually looking forward to needing reading glasses one day so I can perch them on top of my head.

I spend most of the day with glasses on top of my head... Either reading glasses or sunglasses... And sometimes both pairs.

It all works until I pull them down as I drive onto the road, to discover I'm wearing the reading ones.

I do it because I loose them less, and it makes my very round (and fat) face look a bit longer IYSWIM.

Autumn I wonder if clips would work for you to keep hair back at the sides?

I sometimes wear prescription specs (but most often lenses) so not always an option for me to have another pair stuck on the head! Glad it's not just me that likes the look though!

What about those plastic type zig zag things that sort of disappear into your hair?
