Razor recommendations please

I've never had much leg hair, but suddenly I have sprouted thick black hairs. There's not much, just a patch about 2 inches wide above my ankles but my usual razor's not up to job. Any recommendations please?

I've always used a men's razor for my legs and armpits, lady ones just didnt cut it for me (pun intended!)

I used to use king of shaves, then my local boots stopped stocking it so went back to good old Mach 3. Only for my pits though, I've been epilating my legs this summer and I'm very pleased with the results.

That might be my problem! I used to nick dh's razor, but the selfish git uses one of those electric shavers now. Does epilating hurt? How long do the hairs need to be?
