Botox side effects advice needed...

I had botox last Wednesday just in the glabella area, I am happy so far with the results, every day I have woken up to slightly less creases in this area and my ability to frown has pretty much gone although I still have plenty of movement on my fore head and around my eyebrows which i s what I wanted. However I have had a constant low level headache and a feeling of tightness across the upper part of my forehead and I was wondering what other peoples experiences of having botox for the first time were?

At first I thought that this was just normal and presumed that it would pass but its day 6 now not sure whether to call the doctor and ask for my follow up appointment to be brought forward... Would be interested to hear your thoughts. thanks

Thanks pixie I did do a little googling and have found similar articles which is reassuring but I suppose I was just hoping that it would have gone by now.

Mine lasted for about 2 weeks afterwards and I was worried that it would remain constantly. it disappeared and I had forgotten all about it until I read your post. Hope it goes soon.

Yes you do feel a sort of odd pressure at first. I also had a slight headache but I think it might be because I was constantly trying to frown/raise my brows to check it was working. I don't give it a second thought when i have it done now.

Thanks Mary & Eggs its a relief to know I'm not alone and it is normal, although I did expect some headaches in the beginning there were some doubts starting to creep in about long term side effects couple with a little guilt over having it done which could also be contributing to the headache... not to mention the constant squinting and scrunching of my brows and forehead to check what's happening!

I have Botox for migraines. The first time I had it done I had a horrendous headache for about a week after. I've had 4 more sets since and I've not had the headache with any of them.

Thanks I'm starting to feel more reassured by your comments and so it's just a waiting game until the headaches pass. In the mean time me and my scowl free self will try to relax and take comedy photos of me trying to frown ;-)
