Estee Lauder Double Wear

Hello - I thought there was just the one version of the EL Double Wear foundation. Wrong! Which one would you recommend for me?

I have lots of blemishes and a bit of acne scarring and pigmentation. Foundation doesn't last on my skin and I don't like a very matt finish.

Would the "Light" version be ok or do I need something more heavy duty>

Or is there a better one than EL?

I personally think it looks better having a lighter foundation and then use a good concealer on the blemishes and areas that need more coverage than using a full coverage foundation all over. It looks more natural IMO.

I like Double Wear Light a lot. I also like Diorskin Nude, Estee Lauder DayWear BB cream, Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and Mac Face and Body. The Mac one doesn't last as long on my skin as the other products.

For concealer I love Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage.

I set it all with a powder; Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, Guerlain Meteorites, a loose translucent one from Nars (don't remember name right now but can find it if you want) or Mac Select Sheer Pressed (not a fan of the loose one). I use a brush and just a light dusting as I'm not a fan of the really matte look.

Before you buy a foundation, ask for a sample to make sure you like the product, that it is the correct colour and doesn't cause you any issues such as breakouts.

I have similar skin to you and prefer the regular DW to DW light. Better coverage and sits on my face better. I also find it quite glowy and use powder for a more matte look, but you could wear it just as is.

Estée Lauder counters are generally quite good at matching and will give decent samples to take home and try, just pitch up and ask.

If you use effeclar duo moisturiser underneath it will help clear your skin and makes a great primer for make up.
