Was staring at a few days of holidays, so In tried the Banila oil remover. Felt good, the freshness lasted quite long. I will try it again and some other products also.

jackiekatu · 22/07/2015 11:30

Thanks Lucyman is it the acid lotion ?

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 11:32

I'll be back with a link...

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 11:37

This hyaluronic acid one. Slightly more expensive than when I bought it but worth it.

It absorbs really quickly, no stickiness left behind & is fine even on oily skin like mine. Leaves my skin all silky smoooooth and nicely hydrated...I resist the urge to stroke it Grin

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 11:38

Btw - I have no idea about that seller! It was just the first one I came to Smile

jackiekatu · 22/07/2015 11:50

Thanks Lucymam that's my toner sorted , any Korean foundations or cc/ bb cream recommendations?

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 12:00

Foundations/bb creams are not my thing - I'm working my way through these Holika Holika ones to try and find a match that I can then match to other brands I want to try iyswim Smile

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 12:13

I've been pondering moving onto 20% diy vitamin c serum as my skin is handling 15% fine. BUT, I wonder if this is a good idea with the wedding coming up, or if I should stick with the 15% for the moment. Any thoughts? bigbuttons you're probably best placed to comment since you seem to diy quite a lot - would I be pushing it moving to the 20%? Smile

TheWombat · 22/07/2015 16:51

Thanks for asking after my ravaged complexion Lucysmam, the monster has peaked I think Grin. Pain is reducing, but now I do have a rather attractive and massive red lump left. Am swapping the Laneige sleeping pack for Mowglik's whitening hada labo, so hopefully it might help reduce the scarring.

Hattie interesting to hear you had mixed feelings about the OST serum too. It takes a lot to make my skin feel dry, but the serum left it sensitised in a way that Retinol / Glycolic doesn't - humph. The oxidation risk also bothers me - if it oxidises in the bottle, surely it oxidises even quicker on the skin?!

Payday is coming up soon - Ive been coveting the etude house cat ears hairband - but in the last few days the price has gone from £4 to £64! Whaaaat? Tsk, the price of skincaretainment!

TheWombat · 22/07/2015 16:57

GERTI thank you too for enquiring on the progress of my 'second head' as DH is fondly calling it. Interesting to hear that the Benton testing is going well. I'd be tempted if my skin wasn't quite so disastrous right now.

In other news I have discovered the Kondo tidying thread and am becoming obsessed. Good thing that AB products 'spark joy' although it is making me think more carefully about buying new stuff. I am throwing stuff away and Ebaying like a demon! Really would like a more minimalist approach where the things in my home are carefully curated and put together ignores mountains of Lego and Zhou Zhou hamsters

mowglik · 22/07/2015 17:34

Thanks wombat DH has sent your parcel out for me so all good on this end, I love the laneige sleeping mask so it will be put to good use!

If anyone else is interested in swapping pm me, (I may only swap with regulars on the thread though as been stung once on the other swap thread :/, though every other MN swapee was lovely)

I have:
Hado labo shirojyun arbutin whitening lotion (rich) 170ml
Nip fab no needle serum full size
Bioessence 24k bio-gold skin radiance cleanser full size
Caudalie beauty elixir 30ml used about 10%.
Shu uemera skin fit foundation used 3/4 times forgot shade will check later

I tried out the innisfree super volcanic clay mask today - I didn't use any no sebum powder as been at home today but there is definitely less grease (sorry) on my face after using the mask - going to use it overnight on a in growing hair spot on my jawline (I sound lovely don't I Grin ) and see how it tackles that tonight

Wombat I hope your face heals soon! I've been Kondoing for about a year, truly lifechanging!! My family has quite severe hoarding tendencies. I'm still at my mother's and when I was looking for cereal for DC, I found over 10 kg of sugar and she has multiples of everything else too, including eight or ten jars of margarine in her fridge.

In the past it has been very difficult for me to let go of things and I have hoarded books, clothes, makeup and magazines. But I am definitely learning to part ways with things that have run their course. The ongoing move is a big exercise in letting go, I feel I have permission to shed many items that have followed me for a long time. The goal is to have a house where there is lots of empty space and everything is logically organized. DH arrived this morning, the clearout is much more fun when he is around. Our stuff will arrive on another ship in Friday morning. We spent a couple of hours in Ikea tonight as we have to come up with a better shoe and clothes storage system.

Dabbing on snail bee now. I've had quite a few makeup free days, or just a light layer of Missha Magic Cushion. Upping Nip and Fab glycolic pads to every second night as my face seems to look particularly radiant after them, let's see how it goes.

I think I could do with a spot of Kondo-ing in my house! Maybe I'll invest in the book for a read through.

FrugalFashionista · 22/07/2015 20:08

Lucysmam wait until after the wedding before you chane anything major in your routine!

FrugalFashionista · 22/07/2015 20:10

D'oh spell check fail - oh and Marie Kondo is a bit nuts but her core idea of letting go of things with gratitude and only keeping items that bring you joy is really liberating.

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 20:22

Yes, I'll wait Frugal. It'll mean I have the propolis and COSRX whitehead to introduce & give me plenty of time to consider any additions properly.

I'm happy with things how they are at the mo, so might look for other products with the same properties that I can swap and change with my current ones for variety iyswim.

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 21:06

Hmmm, dd1 has just watched me get out a sheet mask - diy cucumber and some HL and asked for one. Do you think she'd be ok with that combo tomorrow? She doesn't really need any of the propolis/aloe/royal jelly/egg ones I have since she's only 8yo.

XiCi · 22/07/2015 21:40

Not AB but for those looking for a vitamin C serum I use Oz Naturals and have been really impressed with it. It's 20% vit C but not drying as also contains hyaluronic acid and vit E. The C serums shouldn't be oxidising in the bottle. My understanding is that if its turned orange you should throw it out. The Oz serum is a clear liquid.

Am definitely going to look at the Kondo info, am drowning in stuff at the moment!!

lucysmam · 22/07/2015 22:03

I was toying with buying a C serum out of laziness, XiCi, will have a look at it. Thanks. Any idea how long it lasts without oxidsing?

XiCi · 22/07/2015 22:46

A bottle lasts me about a month and a half lucysmam and it has never oxidised by then. I get it from Amazon.
