How do I get the best summer glow?

I ran into another mum at school that I hadn't seen for a while and she looked amazing, golden and glowing like she'd had a month in Barbados. I asked her secret and unfortunately it was a sunbedConfused . I nearly gave up my careful skincare routine and SPF 50 on the spot. Can anyone recommend an amazing facial tanner and bronzer that will give a similar effect? I usually use the Clarins drops but what else is good? Thanks.

DO NOT give up the factor 50. Schoolrun mum will look like an antiqued moccasin this time next year. I like James Read sleepmask which is a gradual tanner with lots of skincare benefits,no staining and no smell.
In summer months I use this which gives a very, very light tan and do the rest with make-up.
I use BB cream, concealer, Bobbi Brown pot rouge in Blushed Rose or Summer tan and a bit of Becca Shimmer in either Opal or Rose Gold. This gives me a believable lightly tanned look which is quite dewy and doesn't go all dry like proper fake tan.
When I cleanse it off,I still look proper pale mind you.

Fish oil. Absorbed the old-fashioned way i.e. eaten.

The best facial self tan imo , and I've tried alot, is Nuxe melting self tanning emulsion. Smells lovely , moisturisers without feeling greasy, doesn't settle into the pores and gives skin a lovely glow.

Laura Mercier radiance primer. Then a dewy bb/cc cream (borjois, clinique depending on budget). Non glittery bronzer, borjois do one but there are others

Thanks everyone! Some for me to consider. Might give the fish oil a miss thoughGrin .

Whaaat !! You must have fish oil.

BringMeTea · 13/07/2015 11:26

I do take fish oil. How would that help with glowy skin though? Also, i have a lovely dior bronzer but have no idea how to use it. What are you supposed to do to look like Giselle? Bronzer wise obvs, genes disallowing looking like her. Do I need a mahoosive brush? The one it comes with is small. Help!

This stuff is brilliant.
I used to like Garnier summer body but it can be streaky. This is far better as far as I'm concerned. It's not in the usual section though it's with the aftersun in most shops.

hells that links to flipflops for me... Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 13/07/2015 12:35

Yep, flip flops here too. Grin

I use St Tropez self tanning mousse. It's lovely stuff. Easy to apply, quick drying, smells nice and lasts for days. Just don't bother with that in-shower stuff, that's useless. Applied it five times times overall and the only bit of colour was the orange patches on my knees.

Oooppps.
Hopefully THIS is not Ambre Solaire Hydrating tan maintainer???

hellsbellsmelons · 13/07/2015 14:27

not!!??? NOW!!!! Need to proof read.

hollyisalovelyname · 13/07/2015 20:25

I've often thought about buying that Ambre Solaire stuff.
I streak everthing !
My dm once bought a bottle of Nivea tan extender in Spain thinking it was sunscreen.Instructions in Spanish obviously.
Basically it was a fake tanner.
Did we have a laugh when we saw Mum on her return home!!!
