Are there any good videos for contouring?

And are they any good for mixed race skin

DD has been practising & is using her friends as examples....her friends look very plastic or doll-like and I'm not sure that is the desired effect although it might be

What direction should I point her in?

ooh I've seen lots but I can't link on this phone Pixiwoo are brilliant and they have quite a natural one I think as they are not big fans on contour. They are white but talk about products for different skins. Also jaclyn hill does one, she is immaculate. If she wants to go dramatic type Kim kardashian contour into YouTube and lots come up!

If she wants to play around there is a palette on amazon for less than £3. Range of colours, not the best quality but I found it useful for experimenting. Think brand is Fraulein. Smile

p's. doll like is popular due to kardashians but lots of "subtle contour" videos too. Your daughter is a dancer isn't she? So she might want something dramatic for performances

Katymac · 13/07/2015 08:15

Thanks Jenda - maybe you're right about the stage thing but it really doesn't look good going to the beach

I'll try & say it's a short term fashion/trend & see what she thinks

Zoella is great

Do you have an Illamasqua store near you? I have a colleague who is asian, so a darker skin, and she contours beautifully. I asked what she used and she showed me all her Illamasqua products and said they did lessons too.

Featherbluedot · 13/07/2015 09:25

There is good Bobbi Brown contouring video.

Katymac · 13/07/2015 20:21

Thanks - closest Illamasqua is in London but their courses start from £60 - so she could build up different areas

& the Bobbi Brown have on-line stuff (which is freemuch cheaper) - we may start here & build to Illamasqua if she needs/wants too

Couldn't find my way around Zoella....so I gave up - sorry

But thanks everyone at least I understand why they want to look ridiculous that way

My favourite youtubers are jaclyn hill, Patrick starrr, Nicole guerriro and carli bybel, they all have great videos on contour and highlight x

Katymac · 17/07/2015 20:34

Thanks _ I'll pass them on to her

She is quite excited by the Bobbi Brown ones tho'
