Scrap the nose pore strip first

yes I know it's really satisfying but it doesn't work. Those things in your nose are most likely not blackheads anymore, assuming you aren't a teenager. They are sebaceous filaments - little filaments that your pores grow faster than you can pull them out. The top bits oxidize and turn dark so they look like blackheads.

What you can do successfully is dissolve the dark gunk out with salicylic acid which dissolves in the oil and cleans them out.

Way, way better than a pore strip or facemask - my nose is free of black pores for the first time in 25 years

iiac, salicylic acid is found in acid toners? such as, the clearasil pads, nip+fab pads, m&s do one I don't remember the name and there's another called liquid gold and pixie glow. That's as far as my knowledge goes I'm afraid, and even that may be incorrect

This is a good introductory article about filaments and the key ingredients to look for in products to treat them.

I've had very good results with Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel once a week and Clarins Exfoliating toner every other day. I'm looking for cheaper alternatives once these run out though.

Caroline Hirons has reviewed quite a lot of the exfoliating toners with AHAs and BHAs on the market.

Liquid Gold and Pixi Glow are glycolic acid, not salicylic. They won't help with blackheads or sebaceous filaments.

As everyone else has said salicylic is in Effaclar Duo, Clearasil pads, Nip Fab Dragon's Blood pads, poss in Clarins Exfoliating toner (I can't remember), Clinique Mild Clarifying toner and Paula's Choice 1 or 2% BHA

There are loads more in the shops once you know what you are looking for on the ingredient list.

Of the one's I've tried the Paula's Choice is my favourite - has highest % of salicylic and correct pH for it to work best on your skin.
