I switch between pencil and liquid with a brush, tried a gel one from Boots 17 and it still smudged. I want something long lasting but not too harsh.

Maybelline gel liner in black Chrome.
Let it dry, then go over it with a line of long lasting powder shadow. I use Mac satin taupe.
Result looks like smokey pencil but lasts all day

Bourgois Intuitive Liner is fantastic and lasts 24 hours. Is easily my favourite

YSL liquid liner in soft grey. Very fine brush and lasts well without looking harsh.

I've used this liner over and under 50 .. Laura Mercier blue cake liner .. As a tight liner. Gives a much gentler effect than over the eyelid and easy to do.

Never used a wet eyeliner except in the 60s when I was a teen.
Use Bobbi Brown kohl pencil which when sharpened gives a fine line- along upper lashes. I use smokey grey. Also like Clinique Quick Liner (pencil).

Eyeko and Bourjois Queen Attitude both in black

Avon glimmerstick over an eye primer. Very cheap and in exactly the same place 8 hours after I put it on. No avon lady round here so I get them off eBay sellers
