Refund on badly done make-up?

DD and her mate have just had their make-up done for prom, but aren't at all happy with it. DD has taken most of hers off, but her mate has taken it all off - showed me a photo, she had an orange jaw-line.

They paid, even though they weren't happy as they are not even 16 yet, and have come back and are redoing it themselves because they have to be ready in an hour. Can we go back tomorrow and ask for at least some money back?

I doubt it. Whoever did the make up will ask why they didn't express their dissatisfaction at the time.

They should send the makeup person a photo and say they are not happy - if they dont get any joy - i would then suggest trying their facebook(if they have one?) page

The thing is, what is going to happen if the girls complain to the make up artist? They paid her to do their make up, she did it, and they didn't say that they were unhappy with it when they paid and left.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out the way they wanted, but I think it's too late to ask for a refund. I'm not sure what posting on the make up artist's Facebook page will achieve, but if it's been suggested in order to kick up a stink and make her look bad, I think that's rather unfair.

I'm not sure what the girls paid to have their make up done, but if I were paying somebody, I'd expect to get what I paid for - so I wouldn't expect Bobbi Brown for £15 - and I'd look at examples of the person's work before I committed to using him or her for a big event.

I appreciate that at 15/16 you're not necessarily savvy enough to know this, though. I hope that it didn't spoil their evening. To be honest, I think that girls of this age look much nicer without heavy, TOWIE style, massive eyebrows/contoured make up anyway.

They paid because they are only 15 and there was a tube strike and there was no way they could have gone into town to a beauty counter and back with the travel disruption. They only wanted to look pretty and not at all Towie-esque.

In the end, they wiped it off and did it themselves and looked absolutely lovely. It's a learning experience, if nothing else.
