FFS. Hairdryer-related

I'm 41. I have thick, coarse, dry hair. I've spent my years avoiding hairdryers because I thought they'd damage my hair and make it drier and even more witch-like than it already is.

So I've always let it dry naturally and then lamented its awful coarse, wiry, dry state, and wondered why, in spite of using GHDs and BBHs, it still looked shit.

I'd go to the hairdressers and they'd leave it soft, smooth, silky and manageable and I'd wonder why I was so inept that I couldn't manage it. Confused

Turns out it's down to the hairdryer. I had an epiphany when someone mentioned having to use one before they used their BBH on another thread.

I can't believe it. All these wasted years of sub-par hair. Angry

I have this which I swear by - blows very fast so I can use a much lower heat. Has a cool shot which actually goes cool which you should always use at the end to avoid frizz and set your style (in your case after the BBH).

I think Parlux's are what most hairdressers use and if so go for one which is at least 2400w.

I have a THX, it's ace.

You need a Parlux.

I have a Parlux from Sally's and a Babyliss Big Hair. A woman today asked if I had just been to the hairdresser. No I hadn't.

Wrt using the hairdryer before the BBH,yes definitely, it wouldn't dry a fairy's hair on its ownGrin

Dame - I was just letting it dry naturally, into its witch-like state, and then wondering why the BBH wasn't up to the job.

I have a hairdryer already - I bought one on the back of the previous thread, and am amazed at the difference. It turns out I can actually have nice hair.
