wide fit shoes

DangerousMouse · 08/07/2015 21:55

I have just measured my feet and I'm a size 7 EEEE. No wonder why I've been having trouble finding shoes, all I have that fits are converse and DM's.

All the wide fit shoes I can find online are really not nice. I don't know what I want, I currently have a pair of strappy red clogs here to send back as my feet laughed at me when I tried to get them on. Any ideas where I can get trendy wide shoes from? And not just wide, but EEEE wide!

Hoping someone can help as I have the exact same problem and live in flip flops or boots. I feel your pain with ridiculous feet!

sksk · 08/07/2015 22:01

Are hotter shoes any good style wise?

RealHuman · 08/07/2015 22:01

I'm slightly surprised you find Converse comfy - I have wide feet too but they're the narrowest brand of canvas shoes on me (I suppose it depends on foot shape).

I look for German brands - they tend to fit wider. Puma rather than Nike, for example.

Ihateparties · 08/07/2015 22:09

Ummmm define trendy? I wear vivobarefoot, merrell, camper and similar but doubtful any of these qualify really, vivos are the widest.

DangerousMouse · 08/07/2015 22:09

Converse are the only shoes which are comfortable for me, My DM's are too narrow. I do have some croc sandals which are ok but would love some heels or wedges, nothing too fancy, just for day to day wear and school run.

Request the hotter catalogue. The photos on the website don't do the styles justice. They will also send you discount codes and sales offers. There are lots of old lady type styles but also lots of modern styles in bright ccolour

Autumn2014 · 09/07/2015 10:22

I've got ballet flats, canvas pumps and sandals all in wide fit.

MehsMum · 09/07/2015 10:28

Watching this with interest as youngest DD has feet like little bricks and finding her school shoes (or any shoes) is a total pain.

LittleCandle · 09/07/2015 10:35

Try Shoe Tailor as well. They do different width fittings. There might well be links to other N Brown group sites that sell wide fitting shoes (eg Simply Be, but their widest fit is EEE)

JinglyJanglyJungleBigGameTours · 09/07/2015 10:40

I find rocketdog are wider than converse, but they don't do heels or wedges as far as I know.

I love camper and they do heels.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/07/2015 11:05

the plus size stores sell eee that might be ok? Evans, Simply be, Yours clothing, next do an extra wide fit range as well. New look do wide fit as well, but they might only be a E or EE

Deeznutz · 09/07/2015 13:19

How about Conker shoes? They have a made to measure service and their boots are wonderfully comfortable. Yes they are expensive but when you think cost per wear. They offer you samples of leather in any colour and different finishes. Their online site is limited so better to email/telephone as they offer more choice.

Deeznutz · 09/07/2015 13:21

Oxygen shoes are wide too.

MumOfTheMoment · 09/07/2015 13:27

I have Hotter Appledore which are ballet pump-ish. So so comfy. Agree with a pp who said you have to sift through the old lady styles but there are some real gems. Some available in extra wide but not all though.

summerlovingliz · 09/07/2015 13:32

Good old M&S have a good selection of wide fit shoes and they are surprisingly trendy Smile

MumOfTheMoment · 09/07/2015 14:47

Well I've just ordered some pumps thanks to this thread Hmm

Purpleball · 09/07/2015 14:52

I get most of mine from Evans or Clarks. I also have fit flops but some are wider than others. Buying shoes online never tends to end well. I tried JD Williams for wedding shoes and one pair fit out of the 6 I ordered

ouryve · 09/07/2015 14:54

I'm 5.5 EEE with the complication of needing arch support or some other structural support in a shoe, plus a further complication of an old foot injury that makes a lot of styles painful to wear. I find that brands that come up with the goods tend to be the German style ones - Josef Siebel, Rieker. Merrel do some wide options, but they're also wide around the heel, which is no good if you have duck feet like me, as they move to much. I like vivobarefoot when I won't be walking too much anf having to sit around a lot, as they don't feel too constricting. Birkenstocks work if you don't have toes that are straight across (so again, rubbish with duck feet). I have some fab boots by Camel Active an all my proper trainers are Nike as many of their styles are very wide in the toe friendly.

ouryve · 09/07/2015 14:57

Oh - and don't be afraid to sift through the crap in Clarks. Some occasional gems in there amongst it all. Even their "D" fittings often have a nice high instep which makes them roomier than a standard D.

DialsMavis · 09/07/2015 15:01

My feet are wide but I don't know the actual width fitting. New look wide fit Re always ok on me, they are very cheap too.

fiftyval · 09/07/2015 15:13

I share your pain OP. I have wide feet and high arches so many styles are far too tight. I have found some of 'Fly' shoes to be very good but usually go up a size.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/07/2015 15:29

Hotter shoes aren't wide, bothered might be a couple of styles that are but the majority aren't.

Evans, M and S, Clarks ( I'm currently swimming an a pair from there atm!) Pavers is good too .

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/07/2015 15:30

Bothered?Confused Not sure why my iPad said that!

ouryve · 09/07/2015 16:17

And agreed that the standard "wide" fitting in Hotter isn't that wide. It's an EE and often not that generous in the toe box. Their extra extra wide range is very small and only mostly in granny beige (no offence meant to grannies, but while I will happily embrace middle age, I am not an old lady, yet, despite crap feet.)

"Though there" dame?:o

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/07/2015 16:26

PossiblyGrin iPad has a mind of its own!
