Looking for a jacket....

I'm looking for a jacket for wearing outside in the evening or indoors during day.

I am having to attend a few informal functions. A cardigan seems too informal so I need a jacket but a tour of shops just gives me the type of jacket that I'd be expect an older lady to wear to church or they are made of linen which with me would be creased before I'd left the house.

I'm looking for something plain, not in black/white/cream.

Can anyone recommend any brands?

TIA

Zara is great for jackets. I also have some nice ones from Hobbs.
Do not go to H&M, they seem promising but look cheap once they've been cleaned once, not well made.

I did think about Hobbs. My town just had a small concession in a department store so might look online.

Now I found this lovely jacket in Jigsaw here

And nearly the same here in La Redoute, depending on your budget. Really nice with jeans or over a dress

Thank you. I rather like the La redoute one.

I have to confess the La Redoute one has rather cheap glittery braid I was thinking I'd unpick and replace. I tried them both on and apart from that they aren't a lot different. Well not in proportion to the price!

Glittery braiding - perhaps not then, but I do like some of their other jackets.
