What sort of earrings won't make my ears react?

I've had pierced ears since I was about 11 but rarely wear earrings now as they seem to make my ears weep a little.

Is this normal? It can get a bit sore. I wondered if it is best to wear a certain type of metal, but honestly don't have a clue what sort is best.

Has anyone else got this problem? I'd like to be able to wear them again.

Me and my eldest daughters ears bleed if we wear anything but silver. It's not too bad for me but I feel sorry for her when she can't wear all the fashion jewellery. I even tried painting them with clear nail varnish like I do with my watch but they still get sore. Silver only here

I can only wear surgical steel or titanium. Gold and silver irritate me

Oh if it's not weeping or irritation then it's fine. The white stuff you are describing happens with all piercings. It's dead skin and just gunk that happens with piercings. Some people call it piercing cheese lol as it also smells a little bad.

I can only wear gold, Painting with nail varnish doesn't help. Ant trace of nickel and my skin reacts.

I can't wear silver. Only gold or platinum. My dh bought me some beautiful diamond earrings for my wedding day and I can't wear them 😰

If they are fashion ones and you just want a night or two out of them try coating them in clear nail varnish (and letting them dry well!)

I can only wear silver and gold in my ears, or titanium.

I can wear cheap dangly earrings if I remove the hooks and replace them with silver ones, which I buy online.

My ears are like this if I wear anything other than Andralok- fastening earrings (Argos).
I think having the butterfly in contact with the back of my earlobe is what makes it sore.

Same problem here. My ears swell up if I wear a cheap metal pair; even silver is a problem. Solid gold (not plated) is fine for me. I haven't tried titanium - shall have to given the recommendations here!

Sometimes the metal on the post isn't there same as the metal used for the rest of the earring. You might think you're wearing silver or gold when you're not.
