GHDs in the U.S.

I'm meant to be going to the USA tomorrow and I've just remembered that last time I was there (6 years ago), to my horror, my ghds wouldn't work!
I thought they were broken, but when I got home they were fine, and someone told me it was something to do with the different voltages.
I have newer ones now - the IV classic ones, so does anyone know if they'd be ok? Otherwise I'm going to be packing all manner of hats, scarves, clips, and bands....

I think the IVs work in the US, they have universal voltage unlike the older ones.
I had a very fluffy haired trip to NYC once with my old ones...t'was hell I tell you, hell!
