Nip+Fab...what do you like best?

clottedcreamteawithscone · 01/07/2015 10:58

On a Mumsnetter recommendation Ive bought the Glycolic Fix Pads and Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. A few questions for users:

Do you use the pads everyday???

And what differences have you noticed since youve used them?

Anything else you'd recommend?

I use the pads at night. I think my skin looks a lot smoother and just generally nicer. I haven't used any other products.

goodasitgets · 01/07/2015 11:02

I have the instant radiance wrinkle fix. It's quite a slippery type moisturiser and makes a nice base for makeup. Have repurchased it twice so I think that says it all! I have combination skin and it never makes me break out

clottedcreamteawithscone · 01/07/2015 11:09

Ive got combination skin and usually use oil free products.

The serum Ive bought Ive noticed says to reduce pores but also smooth lines and wrinkles...will see how it goes

My skin is quite oily and I prefer the dragons blood pads compared to the glycolic.

Snapespeare · 01/07/2015 12:19

selected nip and fab half porice in superdrug. I bought the Glycolic fix pads as well ( am easily led) I like the idea of bee sting deluxe as I'v erecently tried protect and perfect and not been impressed...

Yazzy - Ive noticed I have got a bit of a shine so dragon blood pads are these by Nip and Fab???

clottedcreamteawithscone Yes the dragons blood are also by Nip+Fab. I tried the Glycolic ones too but prefer these on my skin. This link compares both the pads.

I'm using the glycolic fix pays twice a day (easily led too) and notice no difference. I'm now looking for something with more glycolic acid. Apparently nip and fab do a stronger nighttime glycolic fix but I can't find anywhere that sells it.

yazzy85 · 02/07/2015 11:49

burnishedsilver Bravura do a good stronger glycolic toner, I am planning to get it soon. Also liquid gold is a good glycolic treatment, it works for me, but keep in mind that it is a mixed review product so not everyone rates it well.

burnishedsilver · 02/07/2015 11:50

Thanks yazzy. I'll look into those.

Fatstacks · 02/07/2015 11:58

I have both dragon's and glycolic pads. I find them really handy to alternate daily in my morning cleanse.

Also have the glycolic body fix for upper arms, love that.

Snake venom night cream was nice, brilliant for holidays, but doesn't fit into my retin/ liquid gold/ repair Rota.

Melonfool · 02/07/2015 23:08

I have the Dragons Blood pads which I like but I love the body cream, really helping my upper arms, shoulders and chest - I get spits that just dry out and NEVER GO. It's helped with those a lot and I've only used it a few times.

Rocksie · 03/07/2015 00:06

I use the pads at night (Clearasil pads in morning) and serum every night (boots time delay serum in morning).

Have definitely got a glow about me since using.

Thisishowyoudisappear · 03/07/2015 10:06

Glycolic Fix pads are very good. Other products have alcohol in them which I avoid as my skin is sensitive to it.

janknitti · 03/07/2015 19:41

Bravura do a really good Glycolic & lavender serum - I haven't had a breakout since I started using it

I am using the Nip and Fab glycolic pads for my mature combination skin after cleansing but apart from leaving me with slightly sticky shiny skin I can't say that I am over impressed. Any recommendations for an alternative?

Kundry · 06/07/2015 12:38

If you have oily/combo skin you will prob be better with salicylic acid than glycolic. The Dragons Blood pads are salicylic.

sonata1 · 06/07/2015 14:16

Thanks Kundry. My central zone is oily with open pores but my cheeks are normal I do have the Bravura 2% salicylic but use that at night. Could I use that everyday after cleansing instead or is it too much?

Kundry · 06/07/2015 14:29

When I had a 2% (I had Paula's Choice not Bravura) I used that in the morning and my retinol at night.

You could try using it twice a day, but it may be that it's already doing as much as it can. It shouldn't be 'too much', more that it might not help more than it already is.

Sadly pores closing is a myth - they just sit there open all the time and start to look bigger as we age as there is less collagen to support the walls. So while there are no miracles, you could add a retinol as this is the only product that actually increases collagen and skin thickness so helping prop up the walls of your pores.

clottedcreamteawithscone · 06/07/2015 15:38

I also first bought the Nip and Fab glycolic pads and they also left me with sticky oily skin so then on recommendation from Yazzy got the Dragons blood type and these are much better...give them a go.

Might try the Dragons blood as a change.Which retinol do you suggest Kundry? And where does it go in the regime?

Kundry · 06/07/2015 21:19

Retinol goes at night, last before moisturiser. Options include LRP Redermic R, Avene Ystheal, Skinceuticals (expensive but handy for going up strengths gradually), Paula's Choice. With all of those you should be getting a noticeable amount.

However you need to start slowly and build up to every day and not get panicked by spots, redness or peeling that may happen before you see the good stuff. The Amazing Faces Quiche has a lot of advice and support for new retinol users. Redermic R seems the most popular choice or Skinceuticals.
