bikini area - - hair removal - delicate area question (sorry)

Hello. I am rather hirsute in the bikini area (delicate way of saying hair growing onto my inner thighs).

In preparation for summer holidays I was going to start getting wazed and then remembered why i stopped in the past - I got terrible rashes and reacted badly .

I decided at the weekend to use Boots sensitive bikini hair remover - and did bikini line and aforementioned inner thighs- got a bit carried away and removed a bit more than planned - but no major trauma and no reaction either. (haven't quite ended up with a brazilian - but lets just say if I was in the mood I could wear a very very high leg bikini

Now for the delicate bit - I seem to have excessive hair around the derriere of my derriere and don't want to bend over on holiday and have stragglers on show - it will be bad enough having my backside on show in a costume anyway.

Does anybody think that it will be safe to use hair removal cream in more delicate areas?? Has anybody done this. Can't believe i am asking this question!

Also - when using hair removal cream does hair need to be a certain length for it to work? It was long at the weekend but am now thinking I want to keep on top of it (making it sound like a hedge) - butwill it work if is just stubble?

I wouldn't risk chemicals in that area. Shave?

Whilst I agree with you about chemicals, Happenstance , you're a braver woman than I am to approach the area with a razor!

I dont think I could reach to shave . i might just try and trim - although worried might cause an inury with scissors.

You could use it but it may sting a bit !! Just did my bikini area and a bit further round with veet , epilated my legs , manicure and pedicure , eyebrows , moisturised all over ( day off and no children , empty house ! Bliss :) ... Feeling good :)
Honestly it will be fine :) Just dont use anything perfumed in thAt area for a while :)

I use veet sensitive all round and about that area and I've never had an issue :)

Lol Optimist. You do need a steady hand! Also can be a bit hazardous in a slippery shower when getting into position

Am now tackling area with a Philips Lumea. Ouch.

I too have a very furry undercarriage and used to get terrible rashes/ingrown hairs/fast regrowth with waxing/shaving/cream and everything else. I now buy StripEase sugaring from Amazon. Warm sugar in microwave, fabric strips, butter knife to smooth it on and a lock on the bathroom door. Cool shower, no soap or heavy towel frotting. Any excess can just be wiped away (not like wax).
I then follow 24 hours or so later with Bliss ingrown hair eliminating product which is expensive but lasts years.
If the area you so delicately refer to is your bumcrack (hereinafter DBC) and you can't see it or reach it easily, then smooth a little sugaring onto the fabric strip, press it around the DBC and then rip it downwards (or upwards whichever is against the direction of hair growth).
If hair is long, trip it with those scissors for children's nails that are sharp with round bits on the ends (I speak from experience).

I have one of those "lady" shaves that just keeps everything v v short, and the Boots IPL machine (like Lumea), which is amazeballs (once you've done the initial blasts for 2-3 months).

I wouldn't think a bit of bumhole hair would be noticed unless you wear a v skimpy bikini or shove your arse right up near someones face? My advice is trim and tuck.

I've used the veet bikini cream all over that area (including the bum area) to remove all traces of hair in the past and had no issues. I have very sensitive skin.

It's equity as tricky to apply and remove cream as it is to shave and you will need to check in a mirror you didn't miss any hair. I prefer the cream to shaving as it's quite easy to nic yourself shaving due to the crinkly nature if the skin in that area. (TMI?) The only downside I find is it doesn't last as long before regrowth starts.

I've used it in the crack, one time it got sore, but it's mainly been fine.

I did use hair remover around the bum area and it was sore for a day.

I wouldn't want Veet on my chocolate starfish!

What you need is an epilator.
Lock the door, get one foot on the sink, tentatively bring the epilator towards the offending area, notice how much your hand is shaking, steady yourself then go for it.

You will then find yourself in a crumpled heap on the floor with an egg sized bump on your head where you collided with the shower enclosure. At this point you may want to try an alternative method. Epilators and bottom hair will never be friends. I got DP to wax mine ( hard wax ). Works a treat.

No! No epilator!!! I'm a fan of epilating but not near the undercarriage. Too many loose soft parts

I still can't see how a hairy undercarriage is going to be on show, unless you are planning to wear a thong bikini, or indulge in some heavy beach-yoga.

If you're a hairy Mary you'll understand. I literally have pubes all down my thighs / back of legs. It's not the odd spiders leg peeping outs. It's tarantula central.

I've been trying pluck up the courage to get a wax down there for ages. How sore is it compared to...say...getting your eyebrows waxed? (This is the only thing I have had waxed before therefore my only frame of reference! )

Go to a waxer, hop up on the bed, get on the bed on all fours, face on the pillow, hands on either bum cheek, spread 'em, get hot wax poured on your nipsy and have it all ripped out.

It really feels strangely nice. Not painful at all and it feels great after.

I am flexible tho and often shave in emergencies (not quite sure what kind of emergency would warrant arse shaving, but I know there has been some). I take a bowl of warm soapy water into the bath ( no water in the bath), a few new razor blades, then standing I put one foot against the wall about navel height, lather up underneath with dhs shaving gel, lean round thru my legs and shave in gently sweeps outwards. Use the bowl of warm water to keep rinsing off the razor (these hairs are usually long and wiry and clog very quickly - you want a smooth shave without having to go back over the same area, that will make you sore) and change it when it gets blunt or too clogged (I usually use 3 when I do 'everywhere',). Then when all smooth turn the shower on and rinse off and put some baby oil on the area.

Eyebrow wax really hurts me, bikini line, undercarriage and ring peice doesn't hurt at all. In fact the hot wax is the most starling part of it all. Underarms hurt the most followed by toes, calves, ankles and shins. The rest doesn't really register.

I also suffer from an overly enthusiastically hirsute bikini area.

I once went to get waxed and the woman asked if I wanted the thigh bits done too.
