Black jumpsuit help please!

I really want one! No idea if it will suit but I have an image in my head of me looking glam in one on holiday!

I don't want anything too formal and would prefer strappy with very narrow legs. I just can't find anything I like that doesn't cost a fortune.

Budget would be £50. Can anyone help please.

Asos are good for jumpsuits

mewkins · 28/06/2015 21:22

Agh I have ordered and returned aprox 50 of the things in the last month. It is really difficult and no one has them in store so I have ordered online and none of them look like they do on the screen! I am 5ft 7 but apparently that is too tall for one that fits in the body and legs. If I find a good one I will let you know. The closest I have got to keeping one was a vero moda one from asos but even in tall it was slightly too short and the waist sat a bit strangely. My last ditch attempt is a warehouse one.

Oh and if you want a casual one look at Johnlewis. There is a nice Kin one that has just come out for 55 and it looks nice (I need a smarter one for an event I am going to). Good luck!

Mewkins - try phase 8. They are a bit more formal and expensive than op is looking for I think

mewkins · 28/06/2015 22:43

Thanks Summer....I love the look of their wide leg one in navy but I seem to be intent on exhausting all other less expensive options first...and hoping for a discount to bring it down in price a bit.

Sweaty Betty have a beautiful black strappy jumpsuit, but coming in over your budget I'm afraid £120 (approx) maybe reduced in the sale.

southeastastra · 28/06/2015 22:50

karen millen have a nice one. though i think you'd have to get one tailor made to be flattering

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 28/06/2015 23:03

I got a nice mint velvet one, mewkins. I'm also 5'7". It's quite a relaxed fit but isn't a super casual jersey one (which look like onesies on me), so it might be too dressy for your needs. It was £99. Says dry clean only but it's polyester so I chucked it in the machine in a net bag on the hand wash cycle and dried it flat and it came out perfectly.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 28/06/2015 23:04

It's dry cleaned because it's lined though, it think but the fabrics didn't strike me as risky to be washed and sure enough, no shrinkage or damage.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 28/06/2015 23:04

*i think.

mewkins · 28/06/2015 23:12

Thanks will have a look at Mint Velvet!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 28/06/2015 23:16

It's this one

I found they are all a bit high waisted, giving that 'long arse' look at the back but this one is less so.

mewkins · 29/06/2015 07:32

Yes I quite like that! I will see how I get on with the warehouse one and maybe try that one too. How does the sizing come up?

pudding25 · 29/06/2015 21:56

Thanks everyone. I am 5ft 6 but have long legs and a short body and am an appley shape so not sure if this will ever be a good look!

Love the Sweaty Betty one but far too expensive!

Sorry, mewkins, the sizing is fine. Possibly a bit generous but then it's a relaxed fit so you wouldn't want to be any smaller really. I'm 5'7", 8st 6lb, 30FF and usually an 8 and the 8 fitted fine. Comfortable and loose without being flappy and baggy, iyswim?!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 30/06/2015 08:05

Long legs and short body is a better comfo this look than the other way around, I think.

trixymalixy · 30/06/2015 11:11

I tried on a nice strappy jumpsuit in new look.

trixymalixy · 30/06/2015 11:17

this one. They do a tall version too.
