Do you have an "everyday" eyeshadow?

What's your daily eye make up like? At the moment I tight line with a brown pencil and just add mascara. I'm looking for a nice everyday eyeshadow in a neutral colour but maybe with a bit of oomph if that makes any sense?! I am pale with blonde hair and lashes and green, very small eyes! Warm toned, I think but not positive.

Any inspiration would be greatly appreciated. And I'm just after one colour as I'm crap at blending Grin

Bobbi brown taupe is great

FoodPorn · 28/06/2015 12:49

Another benefit birthday suit here and I've got the same colouring as you. No primer - it's a cream shadow so lasts brilliantly.

goodasitgets · 28/06/2015 13:30

Nope Grin
I constantly swap but I wear at least three different eyeshadows every day so I'm no help at all!

Cheesymonster · 28/06/2015 14:02

AnnaRose what primer do you use?

If you can find a purple toned taupe, that's the best for green eyes - I have such shades from Inglot (supeb budget find) and Nars. Green eyes are extremely versatile, gold, bronze, peach and flesh tones look good too. The color of my eyes changes depending on my eye shadow, peaches and bronzes make my eyes icy blue, purples more green.

I never use a pure black liner, it makes my eyes smaller. Graphite and silver grays, navy and denim blues, cocoa brown and deep metallic green and taupes all look great and a lot less harsh.

I'm a very pale blonde with olive green eyes.

TealFanClub · 28/06/2015 15:57

i SO agree with purple taupe for green eyes
I use mac shale if I use anything

I use either Naked 1 or 2 palette. I'm v pale with dyed light reddy brown hair & hazel eyes.

If N1 - then Virgin from crease to brow bone & Toasted over lid & up into crease. I go over the meeting point with a little brush to get rid of any hard edges

If N2 - then Booty Call from crease to brow bone then Suspect (dark subtle gold/brown) or Half Baked (bright gold) over lid & into crease, going over with brush as before. Suspect is my default shade as its very subtle.

Bourjois also do a nice one, I think its called Beige Rose, tis shimmery & Stila's Kitten is also nice

I use a smashbox trio, can't recall the name but has a dark brown, which I line with, a taupe for eye sockets and then a pale cream for blending. I struggle with colours for work/more casual, last night I used some purpley/pink stuff from a big smashbox palette for a wedding reception but its not very portable for touch ups at work.

Teal is that you in the pic? Gorgeous. I'd look like I'd been punched in the face if I attempted that look.

Maybe I need to look up some YouTube tutorials. I'd like to make my eyes look bigger.

Bourjois intense in a neural shade

TealFanClub · 28/06/2015 18:57

GOD NO, Way too much make up

its a great shade tho

SweetheartStout · 28/06/2015 19:02

Treated myself to the MUA Undressed and Undressed Me Too palettes today - dead ringers for the Urban Decay Naked palettes as another poster said. Am sure the pigment won't have the same staying power as UD but for £4 a pop (Superdrug) I'm willing to touch up as required!

SwedishEdith · 28/06/2015 19:05

Boot's Natural Collection Heather is a dead cheap purple taupe.

Annarose2014 · 28/06/2015 19:06

Cheesy I've used them all but the best by far is a cheap as chips one I got on Ebay. Its the Wet n Wild Take on the Day primer by Fergie. (As in Fergie the singer, not of York, lol)

It makes everything stick like concrete. Amazing. Bloody big tube too.

Annarose2014 · 28/06/2015 19:09

Oh and check out the Bronze eye pencil in the Scandaleyes by
Rimmel range. Its just this beeeeyooootiful rich colour that would look gorgeous with grren eyes and is softer than dark brown.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 28/06/2015 19:24

A pale pink cream elf eyeshadow which doesn't look too made up but counteracts my yellow eyelids, brown liner, although I don't tight line. I've just bought a nude MUA powder eyeshadow as I can't get elf in the UK anymore. I prefer cream though

Botanicbaby · 29/06/2015 00:28

Just realised it's called cement not taupe! (Bobbi brown colour)

swedishedith that's a great suggestion some parts of the natural collection are excellent finds!

Yellowbird01 · 29/06/2015 00:55

Urban decay naked2 - most commonly used are tease, booty call and ydk

Urban Decay half baked..best shadow ever..

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/06/2015 16:39

Naked 2 and 3.
I usually do pale all over then a mid shade on lids to just above the socket plus eyeliner.

Carpaccio · 29/06/2015 17:27

I use Laura Mercier Moonlight, sometimes with Copper as well. It's one of the caviar eye sticks which are cream shadows, so they last all day. It can be sheered out so it's very neutral with a bit of sparkle or worn more full on for a more metallic look.
Some of the lighter colours look uneven on me, but Moonlight is lovely.

I also like Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Emerveille - it's a very sheer peachy champagne type of colour with some sparkle. Again cream shadow that lasts all day.

I used to really like Mac Grain but powder shadows don't last well on me and I can't be arsed with primers or bases for a neutral quick daily look. If it requires a lot of extra faffing around before it works well, it isn't for me.

mewkins · 29/06/2015 18:05

I find Revlon colourstay quads really good. Lovely natural colours and an idiots guide to blending on the back. Reasonably priced and they stay on well and don't disperse bits of powder all over my face when applying.

Thanks everyone Flowers
