Help- I have terrible mum hair

So, I had a baby last year. Nearly a year ago. Had previously had a bob style with a full fringe with highlights that I maintained nicely.

A combination of lack of cash and postnatal madness/no time meant that I haven't had it cut since June 2014. I've done home dye kits on it a few times because without my hair colour is mousy and not very inspiring. In a moment of further madness I cut my own fringe in February, so that's not as long as it should be but is now no longer a fringe but still had to be clipped back.

Main problem is that hair is all different lengths. Longest bits are bra strap length but shortest only just go behind my ears. I've decided that I want to grow it long and all one length, but in the meantime it needs some hairdresser love. What the hell shall I ask for?

All suggestions welcome.

Truthfully? Go to a hairdresser you trust, and ask their advice. Tell them it needs to be low maintenance (so nothing too "styled" or colour that will need doing too often) but other than that, trust their opinion :)

You could get it cut to the length of your shortest layer, maybe? Then freshen up the colour?
