40th birthday present for friend in Australia?

Hello,
I am looking for a lovely 40th birthday present for my very stylish friend who lives in Australia...unfortunately I am struggling to find any decent sites. Thinking along lines of notonthehighstreet for something personalised. I have found stuff on that, but delivery to Australia is almost as much as the gift. Budget is about £50. Any ideas please? Thanks

I can't help with something similar to not on the highstreet but if all else fails the two main Australian department stores are Myer and Jones.

May not always be stylish, but Marks and Spencer often do free delivery to Australia these days.

Have you got any good local jewellers - a lovely necklace or earrings and the postage won't cost much.

This ( or similar !) and ship it yourself ?

You can engrave these by the way !

I love Seed stuff, sale on at the moment: m.seedheritage.com/Default.asp

For not on the high street style stuff have a look on Etsy and refine by Australian located designers, then would only be local delivery costs.

Dinosaur Designs is quite cool for unusual jewellery, vases, plates etc, known for their resin designs: www.dinosaurdesigns.com.au

Mimco: m.mimco.com.au used to have lovely jewellery, accessories, bags etc.

I've ordered directly from the Australien shop, Target. It works out cheaper as then you only pay local postage. You can pay using a normal (British) credit card. It automatically gets converted to Australien dollars.

voucher or gift from here: mecca.com.au/

They have stores in most (all?) capital cities.

As appleyumyum said Seed is lovely too, but might be hard to select size etc (unless you go for accessories).

Don't know how stylish but

ASOS
Urban Outfitters

Have a look at hardtofind.com.au or bockersandpony.com.au. Also Kirsten ash is a jewellery designer here and does nice things.

I am in Australia & would love a Mecca voucher so that would be a good gift. It's nice having a shop with so many makeup ranges in it. We have 2 dept stores so they are usually in the city but Mecca Maxima are in most big shopping centres.
We also have Red Balloon Gift vouchers for different gift ideas. There are beauty, massage, wine, chocolates, cooking classes and more to choose from.

How about a scarf. Lola Rose have some lovely ones in their sale and the postage wouldn't be too much.

something from the amazing Aussie jeweller Swan

Thank you very much for all the tips! I ended up sending something from M&S as they do free delivery, and it only took three days!
