Getting married in jeans.

Getting married in Oz next year in their Spring which will be November or Oct.

I want to wear jeans. I'm 42...the wedding will be in Mils lovely garden...very casual affair, BBQ and about 50 guests.

I just don't want to wear a dress...I never wear dresses and as an actress I've been in plenty of big, dramatic gowns over the years...I've looked and looked and just can't see one I like...I hate 50s style tea dresses and won't feel at all comfy in anything that is age appropriate or suited to a garden wedding.

Oz is very casual anyway...I thought (I've got a good figure) that I could get some really gorgeous jeans and shoes and a lovely lacy white top and have my hair and makeup done...flower or nice hair thing in...and that's that.

Is it ok and can anyone advise or offer ideas. I look best in high necklines...I've a small bust...size 10...I like white lacy tops...something that shows off waist...arms are fine.

I like it in theory but will your guests be more dressy than you? Or will you just be like one of them?

Maybe you could do a white cigarette pant trouser suit?

not no...I really don't like trouser suits one bit.... also...I will tell the guests it's casual...they're all bloody hippies..nobody will really dress up and I'm hoping that extra special up-hair with ornament and spectacular shoes and top plus little posy or something will make me stand out.

I've looked and I've looked and nothing feels right. Its in a garden...I don't wear dresses ever and will not feel happy in one.

I think you should wear whatever you like. It sounds fine to me and I know I could never do the big dress thing. Don't wear a white pant suit that would be dreadful. It makes me think of Celine Dion.

Oh I see! That 2nd link is a lovely top....gorgeous. But I was thinking of something to show my waist as it's one of my better features...I think skinny jeans....a few people have said white jeans but what if they're a different shade to the top? You know how hard it is to get whites exact.

I'm not really fashion-y, in fact this might be my first time on the style boards but I just want to say - DO IT! If you want to wear jeans then do, you can doll it up with accessories and you'll be comfy.

I'd probably go for lighter trousers than jeans but go for whatever you are happy in!

What about Etsy? I bought a white lace cardi a couple of months ago. All the nice ones seemed to be in shops based in Australia. I needed mine quickly so ended up buying vintage in UK.

Make sure you get the fabulous jeans way in advance and wear them lots so they're comfy!

I agree that both bottom and top could be tricky in white due to colour matching. One or other would look good in a colour of some sort.
