Does this hairstyle suit me?

I had this cut last year and couldn't decide if it suited me or not. I decided not and have let it grow to a boring bob. The thing is I really don't like it the way it is, I have very fine hair which needs to be washed everyday and this short style was quick and easy to do but I'm just not sure if it's a bit young for me or if my face is the right shape ( everyone I've asked re face shape has given me a different answer) So, lovely Style and Beauty ladies.....please put me out of my misery Yay or Nay, if Nay then any suggestions for what might suit me would be gratefully received. ( I am like a rabbit in headlights once I get to the hairdressers, I need something to actually tell them rather than muttering something and hoping for the best)

Wish I could rock a style like this, it really suits you! I'm stuck with crazy curls which never behave as I wish. I agree a darker colour would look great with your natural skin tone.

Blueberrymuffint0p · 23/06/2015 06:34

I think it looks lovely too.

Could you post a pic of your hair now so we can see which suits you better in comparison.

I've actually got the same dilemma. Had a pixie cut last year and grew it to chin length which I think suits me better but my hairs fine and all the washing and styling is a chore.

You remind me a little of Robin Penn Wright facially. She really pulls off her pixie. I'm not great at hair colours but I can see that hers is a more cool blonde. I think brown would suit you too though. I'd go for whichever is easier to maintain in terms of regrowth etc.

Robin

Silverstreaks · 23/06/2015 09:25

Yes, it is lovely.

burnishedsilver · 23/06/2015 09:31

Another yes.

mindalina · 23/06/2015 09:38

yes you look great, it's a lovely style and works really well on you

NeitherHereOrThere · 23/06/2015 10:37

Fab hairstyle and I agree a cooler colour (i.e either ash blonde or cool brown) would be better for your skin tone.

Indecisivejo · 23/06/2015 11:40

I think both the cut and colour look lovely on you, I wouldn't have a shorter fringe I think it's great exactly as in that pic. I really don't know why most people are saying avoid the warm copper tones because I personally think copper/ginger compliments a cool pink toned skin! Think about natural redheads, their skin is usually cool with redness. Ash blonde does neutralise some of the redness I agree but can also make skin look washed out, I'm all for the warmer tones in hair with a cool toned skin warm copper/strawberry blonde as opposed to caramels etc which are best for warmer skins)Smile

Thank you IndecisiveJo, I'm booked in for 12.45 ( eek ), I'm going for it????, I envy all of you who a) know what suits and b) do not suffer hairdresser anxiety. I'll report back if it looks ok. If it's awful I'll be the woman in a balaclavaGrin.

How did it go?

AccordingToOurRecords · 24/06/2015 10:48

The balaclava is not too bad really, it's a shame it has the triple openings for eyes and mouth, looks like a knitted gimp maskGrin. Unfortunately the cut turned out nothing like the photo but I went darker and quite like that. I look like I'm modelling one of those wigs advertised in womans weekly, the ones with names like The Bunty or The Mimi Hmm. Oh well, it will grow I suppose.

NeitherHereOrThere · 24/06/2015 12:15

Oh dear. I find that not many hairdressers are good at short hair and you really need to find someone who is experienced. Can't you go back to ask for a more experienced stylist to remedy it?

isupposeitsverynice · 24/06/2015 12:24

Oh no :( If you're near Sussex I can recommend a hairdresser who is excellent at short hair?

Blueberrymuffint0p · 24/06/2015 12:42

Oh no that's such a shame! The good thing about pixie cuts is that they grow super quickly and I'm sure with a week or so if growth it'll feel better.

Have you had a go styling it yourself? I've got a bob at the moment and always leave the hairdresser with boofy hair.

It's probably not as bad as you think.

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 24/06/2015 12:47

Sure with a wash and play around with some wax you might like it? Does it need chopping into Maybe?
glad you like the new colour though.

GoingAnonForPixieThread · 24/06/2015 12:54

I love the cut and colour, According. You look fantastic!

GoingAnonForPixieThread · 24/06/2015 12:58

Oh, just seen your update, sorry. I agree that a wash and play around can right many a perceived wrong. Bet it's not as bad as you think. And in any case, hair grows pretty fast Smile

Roonerspism · 24/06/2015 13:23

I love your cut! It really suits you? What is it like at the back?

(Might try it myself!)

I like the colour too - but maybe more cool blonde would work even better with your skin tone?

Milllii · 24/06/2015 19:23

Shame you didn't post a photo of how you looked at the time of this thread. So we could have seen a photo of your hair in your original photo , photo of how it was the other day and photo of it now. Just for comparison haha.
