Coat/jacket/something for wedding

I'm looking for ideas for what to wear over a mint green dress for a wedding in late September. The dress has a large floral print so I was thinking of a plain layer on top. I tried a few knitted shrugs from phase 8 but felt a bit frumpy.
Shall I just take a pashmina? I have cream and green at home.

Is the whole event in one venue or are you also at a church? If all in one hotel id go for Pashmina as you probably wont use it much. If a church also, id go for a smart coat (I always find churches really cold).

No church and I'll be at the whole event. I like the idea of a smart coat but not sure what colour to go with mint green. Light grey?
