Are you talking about the gel that is cured under a UV light?

If so you need pure acetone, cotton wool and tin foil. soak little pieces of cotton wool in the acetone, put it on the nail and wrap your finger tip in a little foil hat. Leave for 10 minutes and test one nail to see if the gel will push off. You may need to leave it a little longer.

Make sure you buff the surface if the gel before you soak them off.

Amazon do lots Grin

I use Sensationail remover , it seems better than the pure acetone I was using. ( most of the time I just gnaw it and peel it off )

What or gold said.

Another old school way is pure acetone in a bowl, place that acetone bowl in boiling hot water. Buff your nails then soak the nails off. The gel usually curls and them melts off. Smile

Sensationail didn't work on mine at all. I got one from Boots, about £3.50. Brilliant. It's called Get 'em off I think.

*Penfold not or gold Hmm bloody iphone.

Just don't pick it off, however tempting. My nails are still recovering months later.

HelenF350 · 20/06/2015 22:34

Use acetone, buff the surface of the polish first and put cottonwood soaked in acetone into nail and wrap in tinfoil for 10-15 mins. Should come off fairly easily after that.

HelenF350 · 20/06/2015 22:34

Cottonwool not cottonwood, stupid autocorrect!

Ordinary varnish remover worked for me (it was all I had) but had to sit with little foil hats for over an hour.

Thank you everyone Thanks

My local nail place charges £13.00 for a gel removal and painting with clear varnish, so a bottle of acetone varnish remover sounds far more reasonable. :)
