I'm looking for a plain Summer cardigan or two. I'm struggling to find something that is good quality and survive multiple wears/ washes.

Cotton/ cotton mix
Good quality
preferable long sleeved (lots of 3/4 around at the moment but I don't find them v versatile)
plain colour- neutrals but mind choose one bright one too.

If anybody has found anything that fits the above criteria I would be v grateful.

Posters often recommend Woolovers

Woolovers silk/cotton cardigans, often on offer around £13. Brilliant, I have pink, cobalt and navy.

YES to Woolovers silk / cotton mix. Fabric is lovely, light and cool. Prices v reasonable.

Brora sale catalogue came through today

I think they're the loveliest - I have a cashmere cardigan which is my favourite

puremuscle · 20/06/2015 18:47

Thank you. Are Woolovers good quality? The prices seems v cheap for silk/ cotton mix. They look fairly fitted. Is that right because I don't want something loose/ baggy.

I haven't washed my Woolovers cotton/silk cardigan yet but there has been some pilling (OK, under arms where my sturdy upper arms meet my substantial side of bosom. Medium fits my size 14 Frame well. I also had their wool and cashmere cardigans last winter. Continuing pilling issues and some bagging, but maybe that's because I was losing weight. They are not my most loved cardigans and I found it very difficult to really work out what colours were groom either their website or catalogue. Didn't list after any of their colours actually.

Land's End have their Supima cotton cardigans at sale prices quite often. They go on and on. Colour wise, they often come in some 'less usual shades' which make me think '80s Preppy'.

I have 2 Woolovers lambswool jumpers (size 14-16 bought Medium) and they recommend a machine Wool wash with Woolite.

They come out fine.
I haven't tried the lighter ones (cashmere or cotton mix) but on the basis of the quality I've had so far, I would.
(I'd maybe wash in a netbag to stop tangling, my jumpers don't have buttons or fastening)

I've been searching for the same!
I found a nice cream cotton/linen mix cardigan on crew clothing website
I don't really think from experience the brora cotton/ linen cardigans are worth £80...but maybe in their sale, if there is a colour you really like. There sizing can be quite small.
I also found some nice cotton/ cotton-linen cardigans on the John Lewis site- search for their own brand. ( they're not exactly the cutting edge of fashion, but then it is cardigans we're talking about Wink)

Thanks for Woolovers, looks good and good prices. I have no patience for this sort of thing and I love a website where you can easily find good basics.
