Home Highlights - does anyone do this (or is it a bit 1980s?)

You know those kits where you wear the swimcap with holes and poke yourself in the skull with the cochet hook

Then came the mascara wandy thing to 'freeform' paint some highlights.

Does it work?

I could only do the top of my hair (it's about 2" long, the back/sides is scalped)

Do Superdugs do a kit? I use their dye.

ive done my sisters using this method and it came out fine. When she went to get her hair cut, the hairdresser said i'd done a really good job when my sister told her it was me who had done them, not a trained person

my advice would be to only pull through very small amounts of hair to be coloured, you can always go over it again with another dye if you want more but you can't undo them once they've been done and to follow the timings properly. Yes, superdrug do a kit, it's what i used on my sister's hair

I recently used loreals 'bronde' highlighting kit, was really easy to just brush them through. But I do have quite beach blonde hair and don't like it to look uniform.

Also, I added two at the front of my hair near my face and let it sit on my eyebrow. I now have half brown and half blonde eyebrows.

OK, I have bought the Superdrug kit ( the more subtle of the blondes) and I'll do it this week.

I need to set aside time to do all the stands through the cap and 50 minutes to take effect.

Wish me luck Grin

Done it- looks rather nice (self praise is no honour Blush )

I did the longer hairs on the top, the sides were too short to pull through.
Bit of a Shock before I rinsed ir and the streaks blended in

"OMG , I look like Russell Kane" but I was okay

Go you! Glad it turned out good :)

Thanks Ginger

I did take note about the eyebrows , but luckily, my hair is short enough (my fringe is just brow level) to cram it all into the glam hat so my brows are still brown Smile
