wedding evening invite

We have been invited to an evening wedding reception only so not there for the whole day. Just wondering what I should wear. I was thinking a dress you would normally wear to wedding, an eveningh hrugshrug and sandals combo.

I'm going to one tomorrow and am wearing white linen trousers and a purple top with wedge sandals. It's a work colleague who has invited everyone from work and I'm going with a couple of other colleagues who I know are wearing trousers.
Knowing the couple I don't think it's going to be a hugely dressy wedding so don't think I'll be under dressed.

We are off to an evening do tomorrow too. I have nice flowery trousers and a top. Debating sandals of heels.

ncis this is a work collesgue wedding too. Gone for a dress and shrug.

I always wear a black dress to evening receptions. Don't know why.
