Leather bag care

DH bought me a beautiful Gucci leather tote. It's black and I love it Smile
I've never owned a bag that's this expensive and want to look after it. Any tips? Do I need to treat the leather? I store it packed and in its dust bag but what else can I do?

My bags are not as expensive as yours, but at the end of each season, before I put them away in their dust bags, I gently clean them with some basic soap using a flannel. I then apply a nourishing cream.

I believe there are companies that clean (expensive) leather goods though and you may want to investigate this as an option...?

You need collonil leather gel.Smile A pot costs £5 and is magic stuff for keeping your bag protected. Amazon sell it.

Basic thing to remember is that leather is (or was) skin. Gently.clean it every once in a while, get a good leather cream to keep it supple and try to keep away from extremes of hot and cold (taking it out is fine, bit don't plonk it on top of the radiator every evening!)
Black is good too...I have too many tan bags that I invariably have to clean indigo dye out of when they rub on new jeans!
