I did today and am VERY PLEASED.
Admittedly only from £9 to £5 but still

ridiculous shoes i Had eyed up in New Look at about $20.
Decided I didnt need them ( I don't)
ONE PAIR left in the sale, in my size with a slight mark on them...

Hooray!

I haggled down a black full length tulle dress in Dorothy Perkins, it was £80 reduced to £40 and the zip was broken, so I got it for £20.

That was errr 16 yrs ago though when I was a student, I was well chuffed at the time though.

Oh and actually recently I got a pair of navy quilted ballerinas for £3 as they were labelled wrongly - they should have been £14. Also Dorothy Perkins funnily enough. Think the sales assistant was wrong to reduce them, she should have stood her ground with me really Grin

Yeah just the usual 10% off if theres a slight marks etc. Even if its verrrrry small most places just say 10;% off straight away no fuss (but then you wouldn't be able to return it if you wanted to- not that i ever have!)

Tbh most of the time id rather just pay full price for a nice one thats been in stock room 'un worn' - ive managed to get discount before because the last one was one that had been on shop floor and even though it looked ok i wanted one that people hadnt been trying on lol.

Im one of those customers arnt i? Smile

It really annoys me when shoe shops won't discount a pair that includes the shop floor 'trying on' shoe.

I did years ago in Debenhams there was a lovely jasper conran wrap dress it was in the sale £12 instead of £40. I tried it on and it looked lovely but someone had broken the loop on the side for the belt ( didn't make any difference) but I mentioned it at the tills and she said she would see what she could do and I got my dress for £6 Grin

I always ask in independent shops/ boutiques.
Thomas Patrick shoes, grafton street Dublin always take a few euro off if you ask. ( no relationship with anyone involved in the shop)
It means that they appreciate your custom so you do go back to repurchase if they give good service or discount.
If you don't ask you you won't get.
My mum and dad always ask for discount

the stain is off
