Cocoa Brown fake Tan

I am pale.

After seeing Cocoa Brown recommended on here I thought I would try it. Yes it goes on smoothly, it does not streak but mainly because it makes no difference to my skin colour at all, even when left overnight.

Should I try the darker one? Should I try a different brand?

Shameless bump

You could try exfoliating more before putting it on?

Sorry, can't really help, but do you mind posting about whether it smells or not? It claims not to but frankly I don't believe a word of it as it has DHA in the ingredients, and I have been sucked in too many times before by supposedly 'non-smelling' fake tan

There is a slight smell but nowhere near the smell of other tanners.

I have read and watched some reviews and they advise exfoliating for a few days. I will try the dark one and an extra day of exfoliating

Thanks.

Try another layer over the top.

I was out on Friday night and my colleague had an amazing tan! She says she uses StTropez every time. I asked her if it smells and she says it has very little smell. She lifted her arm and all i could really smell was a mild sweet scent! I am going to buy it when i can. The one that is express gets great right ups and you can basically pop it on after a shower and leave it on for at least an hour but the longer you leave it, the deeper the tan. Her tan looked amazing.

*sorry eh right ups... i meant write ups!!!

Philoslothy · 14/06/2015 15:57

This one is about a third of the price of ST tropes. I also find that because I am pale St tropez is just not right on me either applied in a salon or at home

St Tropez stinks on me.

I think it has a lot to do with your individual skin chemistry rather than the brand, because all fake tan contains DHA which is what makes your skin go brown and smell.

They can add perfumes etc but it doesn't neutralise the smell.

WaftingWilberry · 14/06/2015 17:30

Thanks OP, interesting that you don't think it smells as much as other tanners. I suppose if you can wash it off quicker that would help.

Philoslothy · 14/06/2015 18:28

I have tried the darker one, which is indeed much darker.

I have just given myself a good sniff and I don't think it smells

I prefer St tropez .
Cocoa brown just washes off on me.
I use St Tropez express bronzer in the blue can weekly, topped up with their gradual tan couple if times in between.

poppym12 · 14/06/2015 22:38

i tried cocoa brown dark (already had a fading natural tan). i looked a bit orange and streaky in places even though i'd exfoliated, moisturised etc as directed. given up on it now and think i'll just use the wash off stuff if i feel the need for a bit of extra colour.
(i did notice a smell from the cocoa brown but not as pungent as others i've tried).

Philoslothy · 14/06/2015 23:32

I am currently quite a nice colour but have not showered it off. Having left it on longer than I should having used the dark colour of it does not stick I will try something else

I love this, best I have ever used, no smell on me and great dark colour

Philoslothy · 15/06/2015 00:46

I have rinsed off my face and my boobs ( am breastfeeding!) and it appears to have kept the colour. Will rinse my whole body in the morning, my research suggests that lots of people are leaving it on overnight.

I use st tropez everyday - I love the colour - I m pale and use the light one. I ve used it for years as it works best I ve found any time I try others the colour s not quite right. But if does smell, and stronglySmile
After seeing the write up s on cocoa brown I ve bought it and am going to try it. Wish me luck ......
