Summer trousers help

Rivercam · 08/06/2015 21:56

Please can someone advise me on some inexpensive summer, trousers for a slightly overweight, pear-shaped figure. I realised during this sunny weather that I have jeans, shorts and Capri-type trousers, bit no lightweight, full length trouser. What would you advise? Thanks.

Marking

I'm on the hunt too, I;m an apple rather than a pear.
There are loads of those hareemy type pull on trousers in the shops (Next had some gorgeous fabric)

I had a look in H&M yesterday but I wanted a navy pattern (the black was nicer)

M&S - nothing online that I want and a couple of times I've been in, I;ve been Confused trying to scout round all the different depts.
They had a few wide leg light fabric if that's your preferance.

I went into American Aparel - WTF. The prices ££ and so much nylon I was at risk of combustion.

Still looking so I'll be back Wink

I bought some lovely classic linen ones from Debenhams - they had a good range of colours / lengths and if you order online click and collect you guarantee its all in your size ready to I try on - my store even has a special - mahoosive - changing room for orders. I ordered tonnes then just returned the ones I didn't want there and then.

I bought these the other day from Monsoon:

uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.8/8460770208

They look dreadful on the website but are MUCH nicer in real life. I'll be wearing them with a simple grey vest top or a white top tucked in to balance out the loose trouser shape - in fact, I bought this top: uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.4/7425884608?skipRedirection=true - and tan wedge sandals. The fabric is lovely and light.

I like some of the long wide linen trousers from the Monsoon website.
They don't draw attention to your thighs and let the legs breath, unlike tight trousers. Linen is also very cool, although it tends to crease a lot.

M and Co do good linen-blend straight trousers. I hate wide-legged ones, these are quite straight and not too creasy for a linen-blend. I have navy and grey. £26
