Anything to prevent scarring/reduce redness?

My beloved son (16 year old severe autistic) hit and scratched my face 10-14 days ago and I still have a dark red/purpley mark on my face, like an upside down hook! Having pale skin doesn't help..

I have a feeling it may scar, it's still swollen with indentation in the middle and keeps scanning over.

Is there anything that can help it heal and/or reduce the chances of scarring? It's on the lower end of my cheekbone, going round to the side of my face, so quite noticeable. Nothing seems to be covering it either Sad

Vitamin E or Bio oil might help?

Try rubbing vit E oil directly in, plenty of massage to do it as that will help stimulate the cells. Also could try HealGel (Australian brand, space know do it, also get online direct), the intensive one. Sunblock on when sunny, as if rest of your face tans it could lead to hypopigmentation (ie the scar remains white). Good luck.
