I never go into The White company, it's been years but i have been really impressed by a few things, i thought I'd share

School run dress

White t shirt

Flattering boyfriend jeans

I'm hourglass, size 12, 5ft 8in. Generous chest and thighs and these flatter beautifully. Their boyfriend shorts are lovely too - just a couple of inches too short for my longer legs. fat thighs

The bedding was lovely too but a bit pricey.

And don't pay full price there's always a code around of at least 20%

Oly the jersey in this dress is definitely heavy enough - have you seen it/felt it?

I like TWC.
I bought 2 tops recently with discount code and I love them
Great shape and colour.
Plus I find they deliver super quickly too.
I live the minimal colours in TWC.
yes you can buy similar stuff cheaper but I find H& M tee shirts shrink and go shapeless but that could be my washing Grin
I used to buy tees in primark but they seem super thin this year and the necklines do that weird rollover thing.
Well on me they doWink
I'm at the stage now that I want less stuff but to live what I buy, if that makes sense.

Oh and I totally remember the SRD concept and it has served me well.

GeorginaWorsley · 06/06/2015 17:39

Love not live obvGrin

Oly4 · 06/06/2015 17:43

Hey Loaf, I haven't tried that one but have given a few of the others a go and they are rubbish. I'll look that one up.

Shonajay · 06/06/2015 18:12

I was trying to be amusing lol!

GreenHamNoeggs · 06/06/2015 18:22

Well, I would have been rolling around laughing at your post Shonajay, were it not for the fact that - like the OP - I am made of Lego.

Those corners are a bitch.

WipsGlitter · 06/06/2015 18:29

princess you need to do two at each end for the link.

The Boden blackberry dress is lovely.

PrincessShcherbatskaya · 06/06/2015 19:51

Ah thanks Wip

mammmamia · 07/06/2015 10:43

I like that dress and thanks OP for posting - that's a dress I would wear all summer long and so wouldn't mind spending that much if it looked good.
Anyone have a code? Smile

Djangor3725 · 07/06/2015 13:26

Thanks for the link to the White Co dress & also to the poster who linked the Next dress. Like the fabric for both - one of my favourite summer dresses is made of lycocell - brilliant for packing as folds up to nothing & then hangs out without a wrinkle. Great to have a link for a cotton Next dress - if you put cotton dress in the Search facility it comes up with precisely 7 - & yours is not included as it doesn't have cotton in the title - maddening.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/06/2015 16:21

I have a couple of gems from the WC, but agree that their jersey is much thinner than it used to be, and that the range doesn't seem as interesting now either.

I've never done a school run, but thought this might make a potential easy throw on summer dress (Per Una alert!!!!). The fit is odd though. Big on the shoulders/back and tight on the tummy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/06/2015 16:23

I like this WC dress but it is ridiculously expensive for a little cotton dress.

Sallystyle · 07/06/2015 17:40

I like it, but a bit too expensive.

BTW, What actually is a school run dress? you mean people have clothes they wear specifically for the school run? I just wear what I already have on....

Grin

Just kidding! I RTF.

pinkfrocks · 07/06/2015 17:41

They are very overpriced as a retailer but they are selling an image to a certain demographic who seem on the whole to have more money than sense.

Sales are worth waiting for but not if it's something popular.

Dresses both summer and winter have been disappointing now for several years. Other stuff is run of the mill though I am happy to spend more on their knitwear which lasts forever if taken care of.

Don't like the dress because the elastic seam or whatever it is will hit the hips or thighs in different places depending on your height and could look weird.

Tweedledeewantstobealaydee · 07/06/2015 17:53

Oohhh - I am pleased I read this thread cos I actually didn't know what a school run dress was. And now I do. I have learned something today :)

mammmamia · 07/06/2015 23:58

Agree WC is overpriced but sales can be good especially for children's clothes.

Nearlyadoctor · 13/06/2015 12:13

Loafline you are a bad influence - popped into TWC this morning and tried on the jeans OMG they are such a fab fit. I never normally even try boyfriend style jeans but these are fantastic. if it had not been for this thread I wouldn't have given them a second glance.
I also ended up buying a gorgeous grey striped Merino and cotton jumper, so hold you entirely responsible for my spending Grin
Found a 20% discount code so not all bad. Wink

JaniceJoplin · 13/06/2015 12:20

Remus - I have that dress. It's great quality, lined and washes well. It's heavy so hangs properly.

Loafline · 13/06/2015 13:21

Yep those jeans are an amazingly flattering fit, glad you like them nearly and you got the 20% off! Grin

loafline you are not going to believe this.... Unexpectedly ended up again in town today ( friends husbands car broke down, long story) with half an hour to kill. Popped back into TWC and looked at the SRD ( didn't have an 8 yesterday) it looks nothing on the hanger and as others mentioned quite thin fabric but when I put it on was a whole different story . So now am another £52 poorer. Grin
Obviously the same style clothes suit us both - let me know any other gems you purchase in the future Wink
Should be a sale starting soon........
