What shall I spend £75 on?

I got £75 for my birthday and £20 M&S voucher. Would like to buy some pants (mine have seen better days), another handbag as current one is big and heavy, some t-shirts as have four decent tops, some facial skin care items as am using up very old stuff or going without, nail varnish as I don't have any and a sandwich toaster (we don't have a grill at the moment and I'm addicted to cheese so this would be great for a change!).

If I'm lucky money will stretch, but just wondering what everyone else would buy first?

By way of background, we moved house last year and then had totally unexpected financial problems, so money has been very tight - only luxury I've bought is a pot of Cien moisturizer. I asked for money or clothes at Christmas and was lucky to get/buy some linen trousers, t-shirts and socks. I need some pampering and can't wait to treat myself.

The summer sales will be starting soon, so I'd wait until then to make your money go further.

Tk maxx are good for handbags and gap sales are good value.

Madmog · 03/06/2015 14:18

Thanks for your reply. I will have a look into Tk maxx and have bought things from Gap in the past so I'll have a look there. Even though my birthday money is to treat myself, I still want to make it go as far as possible so I will have a good look in the sales.

I forgot I desperately need mascara (mine's so dried up you can't even see I've applied it on the rare occasions I do!).

There is a fab cheap make up brand at Superdrug called MUA and I also like their Vitamin E skincare range. Next have linen mix or cotton t's in various colours around the £12 mark. Supermarkets have good underwear ranges (if that's what 'pants' you mean) particularly Sainsburys. I'd look for wa sandwich toaster on my local facebook buy and sell pages secondhand!

Cherrypie32 · 03/06/2015 14:44

Or use M&S voucher for undies and mascara.

Cherrypie32 · 03/06/2015 14:45

Sainsburys also do nice handbags.

AuntOlive · 03/06/2015 20:39

I would use the m& s voucher for undies, if any left over maybe one or two tops depending on whether t shirt or something else.
I'm with you on toasted cheese so would get sandwich toaster as that would really cheer me up! I got an Argos own brand one about 15 years ago and it's still going strong - aboyt £20 I would guess?
Handbag - tkmaxx is a good suggestion. If you wNt something ought and summery maybe also check Primark?
Skincare - Body Shop vitamin E range is lovely, think they have 30% off day tomorrow and Friday. Nail polish - again try Primark or Boots natural collection or Rimmel Kate Moss.
Enjoy your shopping and hope you manage to egg everything you want :-)

Boots have 2 for 3 across all skin care and some make up so that combined with any advantage pints you've acumulated might be a good plan?
Mascara- I really like any of these factor ones or maybeline.

Tops- I would look in all the sales and get 2 basic tops and one smarter/dressy top

Handbag- if you don't mind not having leather then head to tk maxx, it's the best!

Nail polish- go for the cheap stuff unless your a pro at application/top coat/base coat etc. Barry m or 17 in boots have great colours.

Asda do great pants and nice sets, se quality as M and S. Buy one move set and an extra pair of pants that way you'll get more matching wear days.

I would look for a bag in m and s, but I think your money would be best spent on either- couple of statement jewellery necklaces or a half decent l/sleeve light cotton top with some interest- Breton stripe, dropped hem or something.

Thanks for your support and suggestions. I'm not in a panic and not proud, so will have a good look around especially at the places suggested. I'm going to go into town next week and have a look around. Might even treat myself to a cup of coffee (have found out our local Wetherspoons does really nice cheap coffee!).

I might go into M&S first to see what they've got that I would like, as the cash can be spent anywhere. I've actually been looking at Superdrug online to see what they've got which is good value.
