Boden trousers - recommendations?

Sure I've seen fairly recent recommendations on here for Boden trousers but can't find the thread. As they're 25% off today, thought I might try a pair.

I'm looking for on the waist smart-ish trousers I can wear through the summer. I'm a size 14, 5'10" hourglass with apple tendencies!

Chelsea turn-ups all the way!

OvertiredandConfused,IMO Boden clothes are not made for those of us over 5'7-at a push.
Im 5' 8",and practically every dress, even in long, has a waist that sits far too high. The tops are skimpy. And every time I've tried their trousers that are just too short on the crotch. My mum is 4' 9",she loves their trousers as they are the only ones that fit her on the crotch.
In long sizes that just add length to the legs,in petite they are the same everywhere except shorter on the leg,so the crotch is made as a standard size,IYKWIM?
I have seen lots of people talking about the Chelsea turn ups,so maybe give them a go...
I also wish Jonny would quit putting pockets onto every single pair of trousers and shorts. Pockets may not work with your figure. They sure don't with mine.

Another vote for Chelsea turn ups, although I'm only 5ft 2" and find that Boden trousers are perfect for me so 123 probably has a point about their trousers being made for shorties.

Hmm yes love boden clothes but tops mostly, at 5'10 the crotch and waistband of both pairs that I've bought have been far too short / low! I thought it was just me being a weird shape, relieved to know it's not. If anyone has good advice on where IS good for tallies' trousers is l'd be v grateful.

Another vote for Chelsea turn ups. I disagree about the height thing, I am 5' 9" and they fit me really well.

frankietwospots · 03/06/2015 10:31

I'm 5ft 5 and the Chelsea turn ups hit my ankle bone. My friend is 5ft 8 and they are perfect on her. So I guess it's worth a try with the long.

I think it's very hit and miss.
I have several pairs of Boden trousers- mainly casual styles-but find they tend to be big on the hips and thighs as if to fit 'saddle bags'. I'm a 10 but my waist is a bit bigger than hips (proportionally) and I often find the hips stick out at the sides in Boden trousers. I also find the rise /crotch can be tight which is why I've sent loads back. I'm short- about 5 4" and usually have to shorten the Regular, but petite are too short.

I recently bought some 7/8 chinos. Really nice fit with plenty of stretch and perfect length as I'm 5ft 4.
Actually bought another pair too as I find trousers very difficult.

I think Gap and Cos are better for tall folk.

Another vote for Chelsea turn-ups. I'm 5'9' and they sit well on waist and not too short in crutch. I do tend to get my local alterations lady to sew the pockets down.

I have the bistro crops and I am very happy with them. I am a big 16 so got an 18 and probably could have done with a 16 as they are a bit big. I am 5'5". They come up to my waist!!

Thanks so much - sorry to disappear - forgot when I posted that I was on an all day course!

Still dithering!
