Highlights - how much upkeep?

Hi

I'm thinking about getting highlights - currently have dark hair with no colour at all. Will I end up having to get roots done every 6 weeks and spending a fortune or can I get them so it's less upkeep? Fancy some caramel tones or similar

Thanks

If you get a few foils/meshes they are easier maintained, no regrowth to worry about. I usually get about 7.

I get half a head of foils and a few different shades of blonde/caramel , get them done about 3 times a year.
Couldnt afford to get them done any more frequently and the roots aren't obvious at all.

I think it can depend on what style your hair is.

Poker straight, fine hair and roots will show quickly.

I'm blonde and I have to get my highlights done, at a minimum, every 8 weeks and it costs me about £80 a time..."

I want gin...do you know me. You've described my hair to a T.

I still get 6-8 weeks and it costs £20 for colour, cut and blow dry.

Ha ha No, Dowser ;)

That's a good price - I wish mine was only that. Just had mine cutshort and coloured- it's going to end up costing me far more than the long and dark style I had for years.
