Wedding hair. For the bride. That's me!

Yes well where to start. I'm over 60. ( 63 to be exact) Hair is brown with blonde highlights. Straight and shiny and quite fine. Slightly thinner on the top. It's past my shoulders and I have a fringe.

For my main wedding I'm wearing a long white dress with broad straps. There's some diamanté on the waist. I've bought a thin diamanté head band....Alice band sort of thing.

Today I put heated rollers in ( I usually wear it loose or tied back in a low ponytail with a hair ornament ), and got a bit of a curl going. I put the band in and hmmmm I think I looked like I was going to a fancy dress party as ....Alice in wonderland!

I don't like fasinators. I want to look elegant. Just reacquainted myself with my photo. It actually looks very blonde and my face although not too wrinkled shows my age!

Oh dear, where do I go from here.

That's a good idea, although I'm getting married abroad so she won't be able to do it on the day.

Such a problem. Don't want to look 'staged' yet don't want to look like I'm past my sell by date either.

There is a hairdresser in the hotel and her English isn't good and my Spanish is limited to cerveza, por favor!

Don't want my hair tortured with bottles of lacquer and lashings of back combing and then see the photo in a few years time and think...what the heck was I/ she thinking of!

Omg! I've just had a lightbulb moment! My cousin's friend is coming to the wedding and i know she works in a bank. She's only a hairdresser as well!

Oooh! I might be sorted here! Fingers crossed!

I wonder ifshecould do this. My hair is too fine on the top to hold a heavy hair ornament so maybe so etching like this and ditch the Alice band

Hope this link works

Have a look on youtube for some videos on up-dos. Also could you experiment with backcombing the top section of hair to give it a bit of body? (Might look better) Love the pic btw

And she's going to do my hair ;-)

Big cheesy grin!

Now then just need to organise something for my first wedding. My proper hairdresser goes on holiday the same day :-(

I'm sure I'll find someone to put it up though.
