What footwear for this dress?

I bought this dress today. I really love it but not sure what shoes to wear it with? Hope somebody can help!

Where are you going to wear it?

I have no idea, I just like it so I bought it. Probably wear it as a daytime outfit, when I want to look a bit nice and smarter than usual.

Would sandals/flip flops work or does it need something more substantial?

I thought tan sandals either flat, or because it's got a 70s vibe- wedge sandals.or in the winter tan long boots... like cagney and lacey.
