Alternative to dermalogica sensitive skin range

I'm nearing the end of my stash of dermalogica sensitive skin products (bought when I had more cash) - it's mainly the ultra calming cleanser and mist (not moisturiser).

I absolutely love them, but need to find a cheaper alternative - any ideas? Things I've tried in the past but don't work for me include:

• any Clinique
• super drug hydrating range
• oil of Olay
• vit e products
• Elizabeth Arden skincare

Do u buy the big sizes online?
What moisturiser do u use?

Following as I too am struggling to afford while on mat leave.
Where do you get your products from? Beauty flash is a bit cheaper than John Lewis etc.

Pure-beauty.co.uk is very good but I'm going to try beautythings.co.uk next for a change (it was recommended on here)

I use Clarins hydrating serum and moisturiser, like their one-step cleanser to remove make up etc but never thought much of their cream cleansers.

Yeah I know what you mean but trust me you will spend more money and waste it trying to find alternatives!

i love dermalogica products but again find them pricey (and impossible to find discounted) so use them in rotation with Liz Earle and elemis. When I'm using dermalogica I tend to end up buying a starter pack that lasts a month for expensive creams and potions, although I do buy the cleansers and mists in the huge bottles but even so it is a significant outlay but by using in rotation the large bottles have stood me for a year or more. The elemis and.liz Earle I buy both from qvc as they tend to have them on offer or in value packs, you also have 30 days to return them if they're not for you so worst case you're risking £10 (the postage costs for delivery and return). They also sell decleor whcih may appeal if you like clarins as well as a number of other ranges - the reviews can be very insightful. If I'm perfectly honest I now do prefer the cloth cleansers to dermalogica anyway so sometimes a change can be a positive - I'm sure once you find a range that you think might be ok if you Google a beauty blogger will have an answer, eg Google product reviews how does xxx work for sensitive skin.

Liz Earle actually is more expensive than dermalogica if you look at the ml for ml value, even some of the Olay stuff (and other high st brands) is more expensive!

Re elemis - I've had some samples but not bought the proper sizes as thought they were also £££. Anything you recommend?

In terms of clarins - yes I was surprised too! About 6 months ago my skin felt awful and nothing I tried helped. I bought a hydrating set (in the Xmas sales) and it worked wonders . Bizarrely I've never found a dermalogica moisturiser to suit me...

That's interesting, I've never tried their moisturisers but I know my skin doesn't like parfum/fragrance in products.
I've tried all the dermalogica moisturisers and the only one I like is intensive moisture balance.

Intensive moisture balance for me too. I regret trying the samples though, I've now fallen in love with their primer

Have you tried avene? Most of the products work for me. I also like dermalogica. It's on 3for2 in boots atm.

Be careful with avene if your skin is as sensitive as mine, avene wasn't good for me at all neither was la Roche posay, or anything else for that matter lol.

I've tried every skin care line there is practically and have finally settled on E45 wash. Got rid of my massive rosacea flare up in a few days and I have the best skin I've had in about 20 years. Lovely stuff.

When it does flair up I use Tolerine Ultra Fluid by La Roche Posay.

Elemis is I use the cleansing balm, completely removes everything without being drying and then I use the day or night pro collagen marine creams. Two products (morning and evening) does a fantastic job. Liz Earle ml for ml in boots is more expensive but definitely not if you get one of the qvc offer packs! Dermalogica price is pretty much fixed give or take some retailing at 10% off, this is because they have stocking criteria and limit the number of retailers allowed to stock their products (this is a fairly normal practice for American products who like to have more control over wholesale and retail prices). Often the qvc packs (across many of the ranges) mean you are paying for one full size product and then getting the rest of the pack for nothing, definitely worth keeping an eye out!

Would also second la Roche posay products for when skin is sensitive, they are expensive but boots sometimes do a 3 for 2.
