Help me find a gorgeous summer holiday perfume for 2015...

Last summer I wore Laura Mercier and it takes me back to our lovely holiday every time I smell it. I'm looking for a new fragrance for this summer, feminine with good lasting power, and would love some ideas. I wear Chanel chance eau fraiche every day. X

Or Bobbi Brown Beach oil.

That's a beauty.

Can anybody tell me please, I've been swayed by the Bronze Goddess perfume, have looked for it online and there seems to be different coloured bottles of it. Is it all the same scent but just different bottles, does anybody know? Thanks.

WoodenPuddle · 30/05/2015 19:48

Well I went and smelt it in Debenhams today, loved it, so I've just ordered it from thefragranceshop.co.uk as I knew it was cheaper on there. Between 7pm and 9pm tonight (I think it is on most nights tbh) you get 20% off and a free Estee Lauder lipstick with it too. So you get the perfume and lipstick for £37.20. Bargain!

LondonHuffyPuffy · 30/05/2015 19:58

Oooh great tip! Thanks Wooden

Judydreamsofhorses · 30/05/2015 21:12

I too have bought Bronze Goddess - got a 3/4 full bottle with a last minute ebay bid for cheaps. Probably last year's version, but happy to take a punt for £20ish. Last summer I wore 4160 Tuesdays What I Did On My Holidays a lot, and Chanel 19 is a year-round staple, summer or winter. I also like Diptyque Philosykos.

EvilSidekick · 30/05/2015 21:14

Hermes Un jardin sur le nil or Jo Malone peony and blush suede

WoodenPuddle · 03/06/2015 11:19

My Bronze Goddess has just arrived, and the free lipstick is TINY. I stupidly thought it would be a full sized one! It also came with two other perfume samples, so for the price I can't complain. Thanks for the recommendations on this thread (not that I needed to buy a new perfume anyway Grin)

zipzap · 03/06/2015 12:29

I had a look at the offer with the free lipstick too and was contemplating it - and you're right, it did look like it was going to be a full sized lipstick from the picture.

I'd do a 'so excited but then disappointed' post on their facebook page or to their twitter feed and see what happens! They certainly weren't backwards about making it look like a full sized lipstick to draw you in, even if they had the actual size in tiny print somewhere in the depths of the small print!

Caudalie Zeste De Vigne- fresh and lemony and summery and more like O de Lancome used to smell like before the buggers tweaked the formula in the 90's

I also tried this yesterday in Boots- absolutely lovely and I could still smell it this morning. only £19

smells wonderful

VillaVillekulla · 03/06/2015 12:44

Oh this thread is making me want to try/buy new perfume.

I'd forgotten about O de Lancome. I used to wear that when it first came out. Did it have a bit of the green tea about it?

Chicinwellies · 06/06/2015 23:52

Giving Jo Malone Blue thingywotsit a try with sea
Salt, combined whilst in john Lewis and still enjoying this evening. Plus a lady stopped me in Costa (a first ever, being approached) to ask what my perfume was

Managed to get half a bottle of Bronze Goddess on ebay after reading about it on this thread. Best of all, it was located in my home town so collected it with no postage.I wasn't sure about it at first but now I love it. So summery.

Saurus72 · 07/06/2015 08:37

I've just bought Clarins Eau des Jardins which is lovely and fresh/floral. Also, and I know it's not new but Jo Malone Grapefruit is gorgeous and zesty.

cansu · 07/06/2015 09:28

I have l'eau d'issy floral; it is lovely.

Dowser · 07/06/2015 10:43

I like Hermes orange verge. I also have another one by Hermes whose name I've forgotten but it's too heavy for a summer day anyway.
We used to go to France two or three times a year and I used to stock up but not any more.

My out and out favourite and you can't get it now as they no longer make it is Origins Spring Fever. Do any of you know it ? it has a lovely light summery fragrance. My friend surprised me with a bottle a Christmas ago she had tracked down . I was over the moon. When we were last in America I lavishly used my last bit in the bottle expecting to go and get some more to bring home only to be told it was discontinued and to have some horrible ginger stuff thrust at me.

If I don't wear that I wear CK 1 . It's the nearest to that fresh citrusy smell that I can get.

I find some modern perfumes smell a bit sickly and some smell a bit same-y. Sorry I can't think of any examples.

My daughter gets headaches from wearing perfume, so my perfume wearing got a bit limited.

I love cool water on my man ;-)

SinglePringle · 07/06/2015 10:48

Bronze Goddess her n'all. Been my summer perfume for about 5 years. Dreadful name tho'!

Madbengalmum · 07/06/2015 10:59

Oh yes, naff name but really nice day perfume for holidays.
I found the perfume shop to have the best stock availbility and i got 15% off as i am on o2 priority thingy and free delivery, so really pleased.

mimiasovitch · 07/06/2015 20:56

I couldn't wait to try Bronzed goddess last year, on the strength of similar threads here. I loved it, but after half an hour I was in the airport loos scrubbing my wrists clean. Just test it, is all I'm saying.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 08/06/2015 00:18

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is my summer scent, absolutely gorgeous and citrussy. Very light and fresh for the summer but be warned it's very ££.

sherbetlemonD · 08/06/2015 00:29

I love Jo Malone pomegranate noir, but lime basil and mandarin is nice and a bit more summery. Or Grapefruit.

spot the Jo Malone obsessive
