I've bought a rucksack but .......

I posted previously about whether to get a rucksack so it avoids me having to carry carrier bags. I do my main shopping on line but still buy fresh food in between and cat litter if it runs out before my next on line shop. I take lunch to work and carry my tablet and a notebook and always like to have something to do on me.

So I've used my rucksack today. I'm still using my handbag across my body as I don't want to take the risk of someone maybe getting hold of my purse or phone from behind me. The rucksack is handy, I bought some milk on my way home from work and it was handy to put it in the rucksack and not have a bag in my hand. I usually carry a tote type bag with stuff in that I can't fit in my handbag.

However, somehow I don't feel right with the rucksack and cross body bag. I do prefer to have my handbag on my shoulder and carry a tote bag as I feel smarter but it's such a hassle when I end up with lots of carrier bags plus my tote bag when I've done some shopping.

What do you do in this situation?

I use a handbag organiser (see www.pereira.co.uk )to hold all my handbaggy stuff inside the rucksack. If you change bags just lift out the handbag organiser and dump it in the new bag. Genius and only a fiver/tenner depending on style.

I keep my handbaggy stuff in the rucksack. I'd feel odd with a handbag AND a rucksack, plus it'd be impossible to run with (which is the main reason I use a rucksack anyway).

I've also just bought a rucksack. I just use that, but keep my purse in a zip inside the main section, rather than on the outside bit.

Thanks for your replies. I can't seem to find any rucksacks the size I want with internal pockets apart from the sporty ones which I don't want.

I put my (small) hand bag in the rucksack.

I have a fold up rucksack that goes in my handbag for when I need it.

I have a Kipling rucksack. My phone and keys are in a back zipper pocket facing my back and wallet is inside the rucksack behind a zip and a magnetic button thing. I take the rucksack off when I'm on the train or somewhere busy and carry it. Feels safe to me.

I have this and keep handbaggy bits in the middle section most of the time.

It has pockets and a padded tablet holder bit and a clip for keys, phone pocket etc.

Where did you get this from, looks good.

I bought mines from Tesco but I'm sure you can get it elsewhere, it's by a brand called Ellehammer.

I have a Wenger/Swiss Gear rucksack too and I love it. It's pink and grey. Very useful and also very comfortable. Got mine years ago on offer from Staples.
